My Favorite Honolulu Neighborhoods: Luna Kai, in the Hawaii Kai Region This Hawaii Kai neighborhood is a subdivision of 208 homes located on the marina side of Lunalilo Home Road, bordering Kaumakani Street, the Kaimala townhouses and the Kalanianaole Highway on the eastern side. Homes were built in the 1960′s, although most homes on the marina have been upgraded or remodeled and many have boat docks as well. Lots are average in size at roughly 9,500 square feet with home styles and sizes varyng. Luna Kai in the native Hawaiian language means “moon over the water”.
