The Glover Park Concert Series will officially end on September 27, 2013.  The free concerts are held on the last Friday of the month from April through September.  For the final concert scheduled to appear will be Kasper and the 911 Band (Soul and Motown). The city of Marietta’s Fourth in the Park celebration begins Thursday, July 4, 2013 at 10 a.m. and includes a parade, free live concerts, museum tours, arts and crafts show, food, carnival games and fireworks finale. The Marietta Freedom Parade includes 110 entries, 2,000 participants and an estimated 30,000 spectators.  The parade begins at 10 a.m. at Roswell Street Baptist Church and travels west on Roswell Street, north on East Park Square past Glover Park and the Square, down Cherokee Street and ends at North Marietta Parkway.  Entries include marching units from the city of Marietta, Air National Guard Band of the South, civic organizations, beauty queens, scouts and local businesses. The East Cobb housing market is doing well and off to a fast start in 2013. In the first five months of 2013, 611 homes have already been sold with an average price point of $374,000. And they’re selling fairly quickly with the average days on market being 82 days. For the homes that do stand out from the crowd, we are seeing very strong demand and buyer competition for those homes. Homes are selling at an average of 95% of original list price. And while 611 East Cobb homes have sold in the first five months, there are currently an additional 287 under contract. And with only 450 homes on the market, you can see that the demand is clearly outpacing the supply. Low interest rates and great prices continue to drive Roswell home buyer demand.
