Do I have to "Paint" my home to sell it?It depends! Many homes are decorated beautifully and tastefully with colors that are to the owners preference. But what if your home is painted green and all my furniture is pink and blue. Yes, maybe I do need new furniture! But the point is that I cannot picture my belongings in your home. Therefore, I go to the next home.I suggest that the home be "neutralized". Paint it colors that will go with any furniture. If you visit many new homes, you will see that the decorators have done this.Fresh paint can make a great first impression!Teresa Johnson & Associates; RE/MAX Greater; Serving the Metro Area of Atlanta,GA http://www.atlantahomestore.com/(770) 888-0021; TeresaJohnson@remax.net

Curb Appeal is very important when "Selling Your Home"! Many sellers paint and carpet the inside of their homes when time comes to sell but they overlook the outside. When a potential buyer arrives at the home the first impression is very important. I tell sellers to stand on the street and look at their home from the buyer's prospective. Can you see the house? Are the bushes and trees grown up? Are there weeds in the the flower beds? Clean the yard. Then manicure the landscaping! Plant flowers which are appropriate for the season. Pressure wash the driveway and sidewalk. Paint the house if necessary. Remove the garbage cans, woodpiles against the house and children's toys. Repair eves, porches, doors and windows if needed. Cut the grass. Give your home a look the buyers cannot resist! ...

As a realtor on Lake Lanier, I travel all areas around the lake on a daily basis.  Last week, my travels took me north of Gainesville to preview a home located near Hwy. 129.  I have driven this stretch of highway hundreds of times, and I must admit that I have never tried Johnny's Bar-b-que!  Well, last week was the end of the temptation.  The place is practically an institution.  It's everything a great bar-b-que joint should be. Lots of pickup trucks, expanded gravel parking lot, two buildings (one for cooking and  one for eating), a lot of lunch patrons, and great food.  It's a simple menu of sandwiches and lunch plates.  The usual pork, chicken, or beef, and of course ribs and Brunswick stew.  I did my share of chowing, and I can guarantee you that I'll be returning frequently!  Th...

The Street of Dreams is one of the most popular luxury home tour and lifestyle events in the country. From September 15 through November 4, 2001, more than 40,000 visitors spent their weekends at this prestigious event. Interestingly, more than 60 of those show participants arrived by water! Each of the six luxury Lake Lanier homes (5,570 to 7,300 square feet+) on the Street of Dreams tour was a work of art, with the latest architectural elements, construction techniques, energy-saving technology and home automation systems-each created by one of the Harbour Point custom builders.Furthermore, each home had its own designer ...

News from the Gainesville Times The city of Gainesville turned 185 on Thursday, and the occasion was marked with balloons, cupcakes and plenty of guests. Gainesville city employees, known Thursday evening as the City Celebration Singers had some fun on stage during the balloon drop at the 185th Gainesville birthday celebration.During the birthday bash at the Georgia Mountains Center, 185 people were recognized for their contributions to the community. The list of honorees ranged from small-business owners and city employees to outstanding students, teachers and volunteers and most of the honorees have chosen to stay out of the limelight.
