Another wonderful place to eat in downtown East Point is the Thumbs Up Diner.  Thumbs Up Diner features breakfast and lunch, Monday through Friday, starting at 7AM in the morning and stopping at 3PM in the afternoon.  Saturday and Sunday start at 8AM and continue to through 3PM. For breakfast I recommend the pecan waffle with warm maple syrup.  Or get fired up with a bowl grits and a plate of biscuits and mushroom and sausage gravy.  And there are the plate size pancakes - add some applewood smoked bacon to go along with them.  Wash it down with glass of orange juice or cup of coffee.  Mom always said 'start your day with breakfast' for the best results! Great Places to Eat in Downtown East Point - Q's Restaurant Metro Atlanta enjoyed another beautiful summer day today.  In East Point it was a really nice day to get out and walk the downtown streets and soak up the downtown activity.  Downtown East Point has a few of my favorite places to eat whether for a quick sandwich with friends or a business lunch with associates.  And because downtown East Point is accessible via MARTA Rail System with a stop across the street, anyone in Atlanta can come over and enjoy a meal at one of these establishments. East Point, GA real estate just got a little more interesting.  Residents who use the utility services of East Point are going to see significant rises in the cost of their services.  Both water/sewer and electrical billing are being affected with these increases.  Click here to read the entire letter. East Point real estate is alive and well and bucking the current trend.  All around the city are great little neighborhoods like Jefferson Park, Conley Hills, Egan Park, and Williamsburg to name a few.  Each of the neighborhoods have some distinct characteristics, but its the older home built in the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s that attract the attention of property rehabbers - commonly known as 'flippers'. South Fulton Real Estate - East Point 30344 - Checking the Numbers - Closed Sales While the overall year to date numbers for East Point 30344 reflect a slow down in the market, the most recent three months - August, September, and October - all show improvement in the number of closed sales in East Point 30344. I find it interesting to see how agents/sellers price their homes. Sometimes you see round numbers ($500,000)and sometimes you see very random prices ($487,512).We see many houses ending in digits around ,999...such as $429,999 or $549,900. I guess the thought is to be just under a "round Number" so that you show up in someone's search.Then there are those that are just under the "9"'s...I guess to take it one more step and be below the prices in the "9"s.One thing I don't get is when you see a listing for $402,000 or for $301,000. Why would you be barely over a round number? Maybe the goal here is to be the lowest price in a range of searches.We know that buyers give us ranges. "I want to be between $400 and $450" or "Let's see what's for sale in the $200 to $300 range."I find that buy...
