Black Friday , or the day after Thanksgiving has become a major event for some. Now the way i see it on Thanksgiving you have a home full of family and friends. You eat a bunch, maybe watch the Lions game, and drink some too. Then after the clean up you waddle off to bed only to get up at 4 am to go shopping. OR You could get together the next day and ... Hike through the North Georgia Mountains. This great stream meanders through the Wildcat recreation area. It is about a 3 minute ride from the North Gate of Big Canoe One of the great things about walking this time of year is you can see through the woods. Amicalola Falls State Park is one of the most popular destinations in the Georgia State Park system Amicalola Falls drop 729 feet from top to bottom, earning the distinction of being the tallest waterfall in Georgia. The name "Amicalola" derives from a Cherokee word that loosely translated to "tumbling waters." Standing next to the crashing cataract, one can certainly appreciate the nomenclature. There are trails leading to the falls, but be prepared for a climb. The trail varies from steep to stairs, and can be a very aerobic adventure. If you are not in top physical condition, be sure to carry drinking water and plan to rest often.
