We all love to sit by the fire on cold evenings. It not only brings warmth and a bit of magic into the home but a few dangers as well. When was the last time you cleaned out your chimney? Soot deposits can catch fire and blow back out of it if the soot scale is thick enough.You can buy a sweep brush at your local hardware store for around twenty dollars. It comes with attachable handles to reach the top and mine works well (about 20 minutes from start to cleaned up).There are also "clean-out logs that you burn to supposedly do the job but I have never used them. Last evening Robin attended a ribbon cutting event at a new home development. The event was near the pool area and she needed to walk through the clubhouse to get to the event. She had just arrived and was alone walking through the club house and somehow fell, breaking her wrist in a few places and hitting her head. A buyer who was looking at homes and decided to look at the club house found her and called for help.
