The Chamblee Chamber of Commerce hosted the Annual Chamblee State of the City 2018 on Thursday, April 26th at the Atlanta Marriott Century Center Hotel. Almost 200 guests, including Chamblee Chamber Board Members, business owners, Chamblee City officials and other elected officials attended the event. Attendees were served a delicious buffet breakfast of fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, sausage, and petite french toast with syrup. The Marriott Hotel was excited to show off it's newly renovated ballroom and prefunction space...and it's a true asset to have the hotel be part of the City of Chamblee!Opening remarks were made by Kerry Mitchell, President of the Chamblee Chamber of Commerce. ARC's Livable Centers Initiative Awarded to Chamblee and Doraville The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) has awarded $800,000 in Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) study grants to nine metro Atlanta communities , including the City of Chamblee and the City of Doraville. The grant, in the amount of $96,000 will be for a study that supplements existing plans in both cities and will help develop a plan and process to revitalize Buford Highway, addressing connectivity, affordable housing and pedestrian safety. Chamblee and Doraville are both cities that have seen recent growth with annexation of surrounding neighborhoods as well as interest in new construction.
