The Florida Caverns State Park is an awesome place.  Everyone needs to visit the Florida Caverns. Inside the caves the temperature is cool.  It drops at the entrance and cool air wraps around your body as this faint, orange light hits your eyes. It's dark inside the cave but inviting, strange but intreguing. The Caverns State Park Tour Cave is the only cave of its kind in Florida. The state park, three miles north of Marianna, has the only tour cave in Florida's 159 state parks.  Rock formations that take names such as stalactites, stalagmites and flow stone look like icicles made of rock or even stone sculptures created by a world-renowned artist. Thousands of people come to this park every year to see the cave.  If you move to this area or vist, the Caverns is something I hope you get...

The Chpola River.  Residents of Sneads and Jackson County enjoy fishing and canoeing along the cool waters of the Chipola River.Everyone loves to go tubeing down the Chipola River.  It's the most fun.  We put in at Merritts Mill pond and float down to bear creek. Hunting and camping along the banks of the river are also popular. More than any other county in Florida, Jackson County is home to a bounty of springs.  One of the largest and most popular springs is Blue Springs, which contributes 122 million gallons of fresh water to the Chipola River each day. Thirty-three other first-magnitude springs also are tributaries to this beautiful river, which issues into the Apalachicola River, by flow, the largest river in the state.  You will love the fishing on the Chipola River too. We have ...

This is beautiful Lake Seminole in Sneads Florida. You can camp, ski, swim, jet ski, or just have fun. The fishing on the lake is great.  The waters are always calm and peaceful. I have fished here in the early hours of the mornings and I can tell you, there is nothing like it. We have some good bait shops around too. Lake Seminole is a 37,000 acre man-made lake.  It has 376 acres of shoreline that extends into both Florida and Georgia. The lake takes its name from the Seminole Indians, the last Native American Tribe to occupy the area before Andrew Jackson's troops forced the tribe into Central Florida.Lake Seminole is home to some of the best bass fishing, both hybrid and large-mouth bass, in the United States. Anglers find their way to the lake all year, looking for the big catch, e...

There is nothing like a nice summer rain shower to cool things down.  While visiting some friends in Sneads, FL a nice rain shower fell.  I looked outside and caught my friends two oldest grandaughters, Haley and Lauren enjoying the cool summer rain on their Granny's Bike.  We've had some unbearable hot days this summer.  The evening rain showers are welcome.  Thanks goodness fall is just around the corner.  I love the fall.  Early mornings are my favorite time of day.  There is something about the brisk air that makes me feel alive.  Maybe it is because it reminds me of the holidays that are soon to follow.  My wife loves to bake and the fall weather puts her in the mood.  We actually do more grilling out in the fall too. Now that the kids are back in school, things are a little quiete...
