USA, Independence Day   As we celebrate the signing of the DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE ON THIS JULY 4, 2014, we are reminded of the famous 56 men that signed the DECLARATION in 1776.         Initially adopted by Congress on July 2, 1776, but revised and the final version was adopted and signed two days later – July Fourth.   USA, Independence Day – here are some interesting facts about this famous day.   The average age of the signers was 45   The oldest was Benjamin Franklin at 70 while Edward Rutledge was the youngest at 26   In July of 1776 the population was about 2.5 million   According to the year 2013, the U.S population was estimated at 316.2 million   U.S. Presidents John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and James Monroe died on July 4, 1826. Live Music by the LinkUnion Yesterday my sister in law invited us to join her for a stage show at Venice Isle Estates.  The show was live bluegrass music performed by the LinkUnion, (a family of eight from the Ozark Mountains of Missouri.)   Members of the LinkUnion In the photograph from left to right: Ben, Kyle, Ashley (wife of Kyle), Rachel (band leader), Becky (Mother) and Aaron.     Is a 55+ Community Discriminating Against Children? I have lived in Venice Florida for over 20 years where we have many retired residents in the area. They are either full time or known as “Snow birds”. Some prefer to be in retirement communities without young adults or children.
