Point Alexis new construction update in Tarpon Springs Florida. This is the fifth week since my Canadian buyers were here and I was out again on Friday, taking updated photos. The air conditioning duct work has been added and the electrical wiring looks like it is ready for that phase of the inspection. The plumbing has also been installed to a large extent. As for the roof, the shingle packs are on the roof and it looks like they are waiting for the inspector to come out before they continue there as well. It is great seeing the progress and I know my clients are excited to be able to see each phase of the work coming along at a steady pace. If you are considering purchasing down here in the Tarpon Springs Florida area, give me a call. I would love to assist you with your home search!

Billy's Tarpon Turtle Restaurant in Tarpon Springs Florida was my destination for lunch yesterday and it was an excellent choice. While it was a cool 72 degrees and still sweater weather, the sun was out and even the gators were enjoying the weather. I had the conch fritters and lobster bisque soup while my friend, Alice, had the shrimp and spinach salad. Everything was wonderful, as always. Billy's Tarpon Turtle changed owners last year and the food can't be beat! As for the surroundings, we sat outside on Lake Tarpon, watching boats come and go as people docked for lunch. The great blue heron and the two baby gators (4 to 5 ft in length are still babies) eyed each other constantly. Every now and then the gators made a half-hearted attempt to go for the heron and the heron just walked ...

Brooker Creek Preserve has pollywogs! You can get up close and personal and be sure that kids love this one! There are dozens of pollywogs and if you look closly, you can see several in this photo. How many pollywogs can you see in this photo? I managed to get a count of five. There were little kids all around counting them and having a blast. This is just one of the things that I love about Brooker Creek Preserve east of Tarpon Springs Florida. Pollywogs, deer, an assortment of other wild animals and miles of trails to hike. We hiked five miles last Sunday up there. There are several different trails and an education center that is awesome.

Yes, it is true, Bambi was spotted at Brooker Creek Preserve just east of Tarpon Springs Florida yesterday. Ronnie and I were out for a walk in this magnificent 8700 acre park and I spotted a beautiful deer. It could not have been more beautiful and this lovely creature actually did not sprint off for deeper coverage, instead it patiently stood there and let me take photograph after photograph. Then it turned, slowly walked away, turned back again and then continued on it's journey of foraging for breakfast. Brooker Creek Park is always a delight and we were not disappointed. Located off Keystone Road, this park has several hiking trails, as well as a wonderful educational center. There are so many wonderful parks here in Pinellas County but Brooker Creek Preserve is one of my favorites...

The North Anclote River Nature Park is located in Tarpon Springs Florida, off of Old Dixie Highway and north of the Anclote River. The property was purchased in 1996 through the Florida Communities Trust. This 77 acre park has both a fishing pier and an observation deck located right on the Anclote River.  Here you will also find playground facilities, restrooms, nature trails, picnic tables and a trail that connects to the Pinellas Trail for both biking and hiking. Both kayaks and canoes can be launched here into the Anclote River and there is a small beach area where you can cool your feet off or splash away at the shoreline. I probably wouldn't go swimming here since it is a river and I wouldn't want to be surprised by a gator. Just one more great park here in northern Pinellas Count...

Tarpon Springs Florida has a boat ramp at Craig Park that is right on the Anclote River. From here you can travel along the river and out into the Gulf of Mexico. Remember that you will need a boat launch permit and the City of Tarpon Springs offers them at the city clerk's office. The fees vary according to residency status but you want to have a parking permit for your vehicle and trailer so you find them where you left them when you return from your fishing trip. Not all boat ramps require an annual permit to launch but the City of Tarpon Springs does and it is a good idea to be sure and get one before you go out for a day of fishing.

How to end the year? How about fishing on the Anclote River up in Tarpon Springs Florida? Ronnie was itching to get back out on the water, so he and his friend Michael went out today. They decided to fish the Anclote River and caught several beautiful trout that were 'keepers'.  Michael also caught a baby snook, which was released right after this photo was taken. This is why we live in Florida, because you can go fishing year round and you don't have to chisel a hole in the ice to do it! Gotta love the Sunshine State.
