Tarpon Springs Florida has a lovely public golf course located directly on Alternate 19, just across the street from Helen Ellis Hospital. This 18-hole 72 par golf course is open 7 days a week. There is a Pro Shop, Putting and Chipping Greens, Driving Range and a Snack Bar. To make reservations call 727-934-5191. Fred Howard Park & Beach is the main public beach in Tarpon Springs Florida. Unlike many large public beaches, this beach is connected to the rest of the park and the mainland by a causeway which was recently renovated. This island beach offers everything you could possibly want: restroom facilities, showers, lifeguards, bike and boat rentals and, of course, the sparkling waters of the Gulf of Mexico. You drive through the park on your way to the beach, past numerous covered picnic areas. These shelters can be reserved in advance for parties and get-togethers. Today I attended a home inspection in Tarpon Springs that lasted 6 hours. It was without a doubt the longest home inspection I have ever attended. The home is a beautiful home, not especially large (2500 sq ft), with a pool. A six hour home inspection in a house of that size covered every nook and cranny. Now we will await the written report and then the homeowner will get the information as to what needs to be repaired before we can move on toward the closing table. This is my personal favorite on the house - the beautiful double doors. They are magnificent and something you don't see every day.   It would be wonderful if we close on this lovely home but that, of course, depends on the homeowner's willingness to complete all needed repairs. Sunset Beach is one of two beaches in Tarpon Springs Florida. It is a small beach where you will find groups of people enjoying a drumming circle or other musical adventures during the evening hours on weekends. Complete with restroom facilities, picnic and grill areas, plenty of parking for smaller groups and an area to launch your boat into the waters of St Joseph's Sound, which lead out to the Gulf of Mexico, this is a lovely little beach. Anderson Park is located in Tarpon Springs Florida, on the shores of Lake Tarpon. This park is especially noteworthy because it is so hilly in an area that is otherwise relatively flat. The park entrance is directly off of US 19 in Tarpon Springs. There is so much to do in Anderson Park which has picnic areas, a boat launch so you can access wonderful Lake Tarpon with your boat, playgrounds for the little ones and the not so little ones as well! There are hiking trails and nature trails awaiting your inspection. The boat ramp is open 24 hours a day, as are the fishing piers!  If there is one thing that Lake Tarpon has, it is some LARGE bass! Tarpon Springs Florida offers wonderful Greek cooking in dozens of Greek restaurants. The reason for this cluster of Greek restaurants is that Tarpon Springs Florida was the center of the Florida sponge diving industry a hundred years ago and it was the Greek sponge divers that came here and settled from the Greek Isles! There are many wonderful restaurants to choose from but my personal favorite is Mykonos! Whenever I have guests in town, we head to Mykonos for a wonderful meal! This afternoon I once again picked my little granddaughter up from day care and we went out to spend a few quality hours together. She wanted to go to the aquarium in Tarpon Springs, so that is where we headed. Tarpon Springs Aquarium is located on the west end of Dodecanese Blvd. We got there a little before 1 pm and just in time for the shark feeding. It has been interesting, watching my granddaughter develop. A year ago she wouldn't touch anything at the aquarium. Here she is reaching for the turtle and I had a hard time making her leave the starfish, sea urchin and hermit crabs IN the water. Touching is allowed but the sea creatures need to remain IN the water.   When You Give A Seagull a French Fry-You get a Tweet-Up! When my son was very young, one of our favorite books was If You Give A Mouse a Cookie by Laura Joffe Numeroff. My husband and I recently had lunch at one of our favorite places, Miss Vicki’s on the River in Tarpon Springs-Florida, and when I gave a seagull a french fry, I was reminded of that book. But look what happened instead. He multiplied! Pelican Point Seafood in Tarpon Springs Florida is the other place we go for our fresh seafood. Here it also comes directly off the boat, with the exception of the salmon, which is Alaskan and flown in. Since I love salmon, guess where I purchase it. Pelican Point Seafood is open six days a week, as the sign on the door behind Ronnie shows. The fish market is right next door to Rusty Bellies Restaurant and both are owned by the same people. If you are looking for local fish, you need to check Pelican Point Seafood out. Between Pelican Point Seafood and Northside Seafood, both located in Tarpon Springs, there is really no need to ever purchase anything but fresh seafood! How is that for a good looking Red Snapper? Northside Seafood Market in Tarpon Springs Florida is located on the north side of the Anclotte River at 1078 Island Avenue. I have gone there for years for fresh fish and shrimp, right off the boat! Yesterday Ron and I went up there and got a couple dozen jumbo shrimp for dinner. They were later sauteed in olive oil together with onions, tomatoes spices and feta cheese!
