  WYNWOOD ART DISTRICT OF MIAMI At fellow ActiveRainer Pam Hill's suggestion, I visited the Wynwood Art District on my recent trip to Miami. We arrived on a Sunday, not realizing all the art galleries and other storefronts would be closed. (Are there blue laws in Miami??) No matter, I saw exactly what I wanted to see and document and had lots of fun and excitmement on my drive around the neighborhood. The Wynwood Art District is located about 10 minutes from South Beach. It is a neighborhood in the midst of gentrification - a mix of old and new with a decidedly hip hop vibe. Ever since June 12th, when the South Florida Business Journal (SFBJ) reported that the Oak Lane townhouse development was the target of a foreclosure lawsuit, the fate of the development had been up in the air.  Oak Lane is a 40 unit luxury townhouse development located on the east side of Red Road between 74th and 76th street. Originally, the development loan was granted by the now defunct Colonial Bank. The loan was later absorbed by B&T under the FDIC's loss share agreement with the distressed assets of Colonial Bank.
