How I Show Houses How I Show Houses     One of the greatest aspects of our profession is that so much of it is flexible. As long as our laws and Code of Ethics are abided by, virtually every other facet of our daily Realtor lives is conducted however we see fit. Indeed, it's at the end of the law and following the Code's final Article where we're set free from "right" and "wrong"/"ethical" and "unethical" and left to conduct ourselves in whichever manner we've deemed successful.  That said, I've used today's post and video to discuss how I show houses to prospective tenants.  Hope folks find a bit of value here.  Remember….. Feel free to suggest a video topic!  Have a Property Management question?  Let me know, and I’ll answer it and make a video from it.  Chances are pretty good that I...

Walk-in traffic magic.... walk-in traffic?                                 Walk-in traffic magic.... walk-in traffic?   I guess I've just never given a whole lot of thought to the walk-in traffic concept.  Literally every other place I've worked has been located in a business/office park of some sort- a situation which simply never allowed for thoughts of walk-in traffic to enter into the ol' consciousness.   That's changed with my recent move to Total Realty Corp- where our Deland, FL office is in a shopping center that allows for a good bit of traffic.  Today's the day for our Open House at our new Sanford, FL location- and as you can see, this one is also in a small shopping center.   With a fairly large Publix grocery store a few doors to the right and a nail/hair salon, Pizza Hut, ...

Justice came to Sanford last night…whether you agree with it or not Justice came to Sanford last night…whether you agree with it or not A funny thing happened while some folks slept last night:  justice came to Sanford, Florida in the form of George Zimmerman being found NOT GUILTY by a jury of his peers.  To be sure, that is NOT GUILTY of 2nd-degree murder and NOT GUILTY of manslaughter. While “happy” might not be an appropriate word here, I can surely understand that the verdict at the end of Zimmerman’s trial might bring relief to some and grief to others.  I can understand that as it pertains to the well-intentioned among us- and I can understand how Trayvon Martin’s family and their cast of attorneys don’t quite see the NOT GUILTY verdict in the same light as I do. I’d like to know...

Lights, cameras…and justice for George Zimmerman?   Lights, cameras…and justice for George Zimmerman?   Everyone’s seen something about, read something about, or seen something and read something about it- the case against George Zimmerman following the death of Trayvon Martin here last year.  And here we go- call it “Trial of the Century, Part II”, “Casey Anthony, Part II” or whatever you will:  George Zimmerman’s day in court has finally arrived.   I’m simply hoping the trial’s over quickly- and that the post-acquittal riots won’t last too long or do too much damage.   Merriam-Webster defines justice as (among other things) “the maintenance or administration of what is just especially by the impartial adjustment of conflicting claims or the assignment of merited rewards or punishments...

One year later: Trayvon Martin still gone, Sanford marches on... http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/02/24/year-after-fatal-shooting-trayvon-martin-small-fla-city-sanford-is-healing/ One year later: Trayvon Martin still gone, Sanford marches on... Hard to believe it's already been a year. I've lived here in Apopka for 5 and 1/2 years now, and I've managed properties over a wide portion of Central Florida since I arrived here. The Retreat at Twin Lakes was just another of this area's endless number of townhome communities for a long time- nice places, but nothing special. For the past year, though, The Retreat at Twin Lakes has simply been known as "that gated community in Sanford where Trayvon Martin was killed"- and I doubt many folks could've predicted how the last year was going to play o...

Mitt Romney- Sanford, FL 11/5/12   Mitt Romney made one last trip to Central Florida this morning- stopping to address an energetic crowd at the Orlando Sanford International Airport.  Folks began arriving at 4:00 am for this event- with yours truly playing slacker and not getting there until 5!  The event was a "who's who" of Florida Republican politics both past and present- with Mel Martinez, Jeb Bush, Connie Mack, Rick Scott, John Mica, Jennifer Carroll and others there to welcome Governor Romney and send him off on his last day of campaigning for The White House. The following videos are the first batch I took from this morning- with a few others to be added as I process them.  Please forgive any audio/video problems- I did my best, but acoustics were terrible with the thing being ...

One more time in Florida...Go, Mitt, go! One more time in Florida...Go, Mitt, go! Don't have to guess where I am this morning!  We've got one last chance to see Mitt Romney before Election Day- and one last chance to rally the troops and get out the vote for him.  Our incumbent president hasn't shown that he's capable of doing much well- but even his staunchest critics will acknowledge he's one heck of a campaigner and will fight until the final poll closes.  We have to fight harder. If our current president had dedicated 1/2 the effort he spent on his campaigns toward actually leading our country, we'd surely be in better shape than we're in today.  It hasn't been the case, though- and The Wizard of Oz Ahhs has long been exposed as the fraud that he is. Polls open in less than 24 hours...
