On the way back from our mini-vacation in Miami I had to stop at Richard Zaretsky's office in West Palm Beach to sign some documents for the short sale closed December 29 and pick the check. I do not know the area very well. Drove through it several times, loved their Royal Palm Way, Flagler Dr... I read that Palm Beach area is home to many wealthiest people in the nation. Palm Beach is a small and very affluent small town. Here's a quote from Wikipedia: "The town's affluence and its "abundance of pleasures" and "strong community-oriented sensibility" were cited when it was selected in June 2003 as America's "Best Place to Live" by Robb Report magazine." Being a Russan immigrant, I was stunned to know that there were a lot of Russians in Palm Beach. According to Wikipedia, as of 2000, P...

With so many short sales in South Florida it makes you wonder how has the downturn in the market affected the luxury home market. There is a part of our county that you all know as Palm Beach Island. Palm Beach island is home to the worlds' biggest billionaires and movie stars. The Kennedy's even had a nuclear resistant bunker built out off the island on Peanut Island. You can take boat rides over there to see it and the Maritime museum.  Donald Trump's Mara Lago is here on the island. Donald Trump and his X wife Ivana Trump have properties on the island. Jimmy Buffet and Rod Stewart both have mansions on the island.   Here is the famous Breakers Hotel on Palm Beach Island where many rich and famous people stay. This hotel is our favorite here in Palm Beach County. It is right on the be...

Inspirational Power Quote   A Time to Cherish Peace and Good Will             "To the American people: Christmas is not a time or a season but a state of mind. To cherish peace and good will, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas. If we think on these things, There will be born in us a Savior and over us will  shine a star sending its gleam of hope to the world." Calvin Coolidge, 30th President of the United States Presidents Christmas message December 25, 1927    As I see it. . . . . . . . President Calvin Coolidge delivered this message to the national over eighty years old ago, and after all the years this message is still bears significances in its meaning.  The sprit of the season is the person, have gratitude for what you have, cherish your family and...

As if sellers didn’t already have enough to concern themselves with when trying to find buyers for their Palm Beach homes, now comes news that besides the oftentimes tiresome task of making a home stand out from the rest of the many Palm Beach homes on the market, buyers need to pay more attention and take the extra initiative when and if they plan to hold an open house. Here are a few tips that won’t break the bank and will improve your odds of closing a sale. Keep it clean. This can be considered the no brainer but do remember that your goal here is to get buyers to imagine themselves living in the home, not spending the night as a guest in your home. Spend extra attention on the front yard as that will be the first thing a potential buyer sees. Use the oven. Start off by making sure ...

The landmark committee of Palm Beach finally decided to designate the beautiful Post Office building located at 95 North County Road in Palm Beach the landmark designation. This building looks like something out of dream. It is absolutely stunning. Small for American standards but still functioning and serving Palm Beach residents just fine. Its interior tiled floor is very well preserved. Another address that was land-marked by the same committee is 236 Worth Avenue. This one though had only its facade land-marked since the rest of the building has been totally overhauled over the years.

In Palm Beach there is a law called "the ocean view law" under this law the growth of the beach vegetation is restricted to a 30 inches high and it get trimmed down if it exceed the 30 inches in order to keep ocean views unobstructed. Florida department of environmental protection requires that the height of "sea grape" vegitation should be maintained at least 6 feet in order to prevent sea turtles being disoriented by street lights while hatching eggs on the beaches. There’s probably no one in the country that isn’t aware of the massive government bailout plan designed to address the country’s financial sector by keeping banks and important financial institutions afloat. It also addresses the housing market in an effort to get people interested in buying up the vast amounts of vacant homes in various states and counties, Palm Beach real estate included. Opinions on the bailout decision are sharply divided, with some seeing at as something that had to be done and others seeing it as another method of taking taxpayers’ money. While the plan is intended to tackle the economy and the housing market, some followers of real estate don’t think it will do enough to boost the latter so much as it will the former. One need only take a look at existing figures...

There’s no need to delve too much into the various problems that continue to affect the real estate market, everyone knows about those. What a small percentage of people are unaware of are the unique Palm Beach real estate buying opportunities that, as some have said, represent genuine “once in a lifetime opportunities” for those who are willing to look. After all, just a few a years ago it was absurd to negotiate a $30,000+ discount for Palm Beach homes. When looking at the broader picture, the situation remains uncertain and the bad news of plunging prices for Palm Beach homes is still making headlines almost daily. But in a refreshing change of pace, the surplus of Palm Beach real estate that has had many concerned is actually a bit smaller than it was earlier this year, an early ind...

Beach erosion in Palm Beach Palm Beach is one of the most well known from the chain of the barrier islands, separating the Atlantic Ocean from Florida's mainland, for its wealth and history. Flagler himself established the island as the home of the rich and famous about 120 years ago. Palm Beach's challenge is the ongoing beach erosion that eats away its Atlantic coastal line. The island is located just SE from the Palm Beach inlet that connects the Intracoastal waterway with the Atlantic Ocean. The intracoastal water is a swallow body of water that spans from Miami all the way north to Canada and delimits the barrier reef islands from mainland USA. The Palm Beach inlet has a 50 years old sand transfer plant (located at Singer island) that shoots sand under the inlet and feeds the north...

(Dryer Vent Wizard of Palm Beaches)
Proper installation and maintenance of dryer vents increase efficiency and prevent clothes dryer fires    Palm Beach, FL --The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reports over 15,000 fires annually; most are caused by lint build-up.   When lint builds up in the dryer vent or in the exhaust duct, air flow is blocked, causing excessive heat build-up, eventually causing a fire.  Dryer Vent Wizard advises that simply cleaning the lint filter is not enough to properly maintain the vent system.   Greg Longe and his partner, John Lynch franchise Dryer Vent Wizard, Dry Clothes, Safe Homes, a nationwide chain of dryer vent cleaning, repair, replacement and alteration specialists in the U.S.  They advise consumers to be sure to have their dryer vent systems professionally cleaned each year, i...
