Sutherland Marine in Ozona Florida (part of Greater Palm Harbor Florida) is where we take our boat for all of the repair work that needs to be completed. They specialize in Johnson and Evinrude motors and do great work! That is where our baby is again right now. We were going to take it out this week but the steering cable is broken, so we will have to wait until repairs are completed before we are back on the water again! If you are looking for a good restaurants in Ozona, FL a place called The Ozona Pig might not seem the obvious choice.  You would be oh, so very, wrong!  Well at least for fans of barbecue.  The Ozona Pig is a little slight of delicious in that cute little town on the coast. The Mediterranean Flatbread at Ozona Blue in Ozona Florida is really something to write about! What a wonderful mixture of heavenly flavors: various goat cheeses together with arugula salad, Kalamata olives, prosciutto and roasted shallots and peppers tossed in a vinaigrette with shaved parmesan cheese. Our ActiveRain MeetUp yesterday in Ozona Florida at Ozona Blue Grill was fantastic with 14 people attending! Somewhat short of the 20 that said they would be there, I want to thank those who took the time to let me know that they could not make it after-all. It was a chance for me to let my daughter, Corinna, see how ActiveRain MeetUps work! She has one more chapter of the pre-licensing class to take before she takes the pre-licensing exam. Ohana Cafe in in Ozona Florida is wonderful anytime, including on a rainy Saturday!  That was my goal today! My friend Alice and I met there for an early lunch and spent several hours, chatting in the tarp covered area while the tropical rains poured down. When the rain was over, we collected numerous air plants that had blown down during the storm from the enormous Live Oak trees that surround Ohana Cafe in Ozona. It was another great, relaxing Saturday with a good friend! Ozona Florida is celebrating the 4th of July early this year. On June 29th, 2013 (Saturday) there will be a parade in Ozona Florida to kick off the 4th of July festivities! The parade will begin at the corner of Tampa Road and Orange Street at 9 am. Golf carts and bicycles that are participating in the parade should be decorated in red, white & blue for the festivities. Pets are also welcome to participate in the parade! The fireworks display will take place at Lundren Cove in Ozona beginning at  9 pm. Ozona Florida is indeed a quaint little seaside town. Ozona is located just south of Crystal Beach but unlike Crystal Beach, Ozona has been incorporated into Palm Harbor Florida. That does not take away any of the seaside village charm that you will find in Ozona. A village with no traffic lights, locals meet at the post office to discuss the weather and trade fishing tips. There are a few great restaurants in Ozona Florida including Ozona Blue (directly on St Joseph's Sound), Molly Goodheads, Ohana Cafe, the Ozona Pig Bar-b-que and JC Craver's. Many of these establishments have live bands performing on the weekends, so it is always a good idea to call ahead to see if reservations are needed. Ohana Cafe in quaint little Ozona Florida has hula dancers performing on Fridays throughout the summer months and I do recommend calling in advance for reservations since the place is jumping on Friday and Saturday nights. This great cafe is also a wonderful destination for either breakfast or lunch and it is my general meeting place on Friday at around 11 am. I have a standing date with a good friend (who I actually met when she and her significant other were searching for a home in the area). We discuss our week and sample something different each time we are there.
