One of the ocean front buildings in Ormond Beach, Florida that sustained substantial damage during the 2004 hurricane season was the Surfside Hotel and Suites at 251 South Atlantic Avenue in Ormond Beach, Florida. The new Publix supermarket is now open On Thursday, March 11, 2010 the new Publix store opened for business at the Ormond Mall in Ormond By The Sea, Florida. The Publix store closed in June, 2009 and the building was demolished. The new store is much bigger, having taken a couple of additional spaces previously occupied by the card store and the Gourmet Kitchen.
