I have completed a lot of short sales here in the Orlando area, but are short sales getting any easier?   I know there is a lot of lip service being given to short sales getting easier or faster to close, I compare this talk to loan modifications,  lots of talk and little real action. The rise of Short Sales and Bank-Owned residential real estate sales in Orlando FL continues to push out regular sales. Distressed property sales account for 69% of all residential house sales in Orange and Seminole counties. This leaves homeowners who aren’t in a ‘distressed’ position in the lurch, forcing them to lower list prices and accept low contract prices just to compete. Until the Orlando area sees a decrease in distressed residential sales, prices will continue to be under assault. And homeowners who need to move out and move will have to accept that price is probably the greatest motivating factor of potential homebuyers.
