The housing market slump has not been kind to existing homeowners who are increasingly finding themselves having to put their homes up for foreclosure.  According to Foreclosures.com the current number of foreclosures reached a staggering 250,000+ in August.  This may be distressing to homeowners grappling with loan payments but it does work in favor of investors on the prowl for new opportunities.  Let's address some questions you might have. How are REOs and foreclosures different?  With REO (real estate owned) properties you're circumventing the complexities associated with foreclosures (i.e.: cutthroat auctions, not being able to see what you're buying).  The chances of seeing the property are also likelier with an REO and you also get title insurance policy, decreasing the chances...

40 To 50 Cents On The Dollar Is The New Reality In FloridaThe Sun Herald reports from Florida. "Sean Snaith, a University of Central Florida economist, is noted for his work debunking the media-driven image of a ‘housing bubble.' A speculative ‘bubble' is a rising market driven only by expectations of still greater price increases. The cost of Florida housing has been driven up by real-world factors like strong demand from a growing population of retirees.""The slump in residential construction is putting Charlotte County, at least for now, into the unenviable position of being one of the worst counties in Florida to find a job.""‘Looking at the state as a whole, I see nothing that surprising,' said Snaith. ‘I see job losses in those sectors most closely tied to the housing boom...this ...

By April M. Havens - Miami TodayAlthough residential inventory remains high, a slowing of new construction has helped to slowly push the home sales market toward a balance in which prices begin to match inventories, local professionals and market reports say.The most significant finding of Metrostudy's third quarter report is twofold, according to Brad Hunter, director of the South Florida division of Metrostudy, a national housing industry research group. "There are signs that certain aspects of the market are improving and some are not," he said. "The number of finished vacant homes is falling, but the other side of that is that the reason the number is falling is because they are getting rented." People who bought property in 2005 and are now renting out those properties, Mr. Hunter ...

I used this information, and please, pass it on as many you now and care...hopefully will never get to use it.... You can now go online and enter two (2) emergency contacts on your Florida Drivers License (electronically) which can only be retrieved by a policeofficer. This came about as a result of one woman's teenage daughter being killed in a car accident and taking over 5 hours to locate the mother to inform her.  This way, if you are in an accident, the police can run the drivers license and have the emergency info ASAP!!! https://www6.hsmv.state.fl.us/dlcheck/findcustomer

During the "High Flying 80`s the greatest place to be on a Saturday afternoon was inside the Orange Bowl watching the Miami Hurricanes play football. Vinny,Bernie, Tony, Jim Kelly, Irvin,Jimmy Johnson, James,Erickson, Howard, were some of the Hall of Famers who graced the Orange Bowl!I`d meet my friends at Casola`s Pizza on SW 17th Ave and head to the game! The OB was unique,it was located in the middle of Little Havana, where the majority of people spoke no english, where parking was normally in someone`s home. The OB had character, that`s for damn sure.It was like entering Yankee Stadium, or the Boston Garden. You felt the rush as soon as you walked in. It was the place to be and be seen!  The OB has meant so much to so many in South Florida and beyond. In the 70`s my Dad and I went to 5...
