Sometimes you just shake your head and wonder why would anyone live in the frozen northern parts of the country when it is so wonderful here in the winter. Actually I am glad that isn't possible but it still makes me wonder. If you are ready to throw in the towel on another winter up north please give me a call!

With sunny skies and temps in the mid 70's over the entire President's weekend run, the 52 annual art festival held in Coconut Grove (Miami) was a smashing success. Billed as the largest in the country it draws art lovers from all over the world. I attended my first when the festival was in it's early teen years and to watch it grow over the decades has been amazing!

If you want an Art treat go to Art Wynwood now through President's Day. Showcasing the latest from the Contempary Art World. Enjoy true art in a very cool setting with a vibe the artsy Wynwood section of Miami is famous for.         There are a lot of new changes to be aware of with Google in 2015. They are cracking down on doorway pages, spam blogs and are looking for authority sites.Another big thing here is mobile sites. Google is pushing for more mobile friendly sites and giving them preference on the SERPS - search engine result pages. They are also looking for websites that don't change much. They are considering those abandoned and will delist them in the upcoming months.

This just hit my desk this afternoon -- I will be going into this in depth but here is what I found out.Google is making changes in its algorithm to ensure that websites will be able to deliver well on their SERPS, (search engine result pages). Lets just look at a few of these:FLASH - The big thing here is that Flash is pretty much over. There are alternatives to this kind of animation that are found on the Google development site. https://developers.google.com/web/fundamentals/look-and-feel/animations/animating-between-viewsThe idea here is that creating these animations are tedius. I would stick to video and slideshows.https://developers.google.com/web/fundamentals/look-and-feel/animations/choosing-the-right-easing SITEMAPS - You need sitemaps folks. Good ones. Not the ones you make y...

Just another average winter day here in sunny south Florida. Suns out, very light breeze, no humidity, it truely never gets old! I saw a lot of posts on FaceBook today from friends in the north taking photos from inside their homes of the snow outside. Well I like to be outside more than inside and this is the spot I can do it with ease just about 365 days a year. Come join me.

Nothing says the tropics like a beautiful fruit layden coconut tree. I remember my first time seeing one on an Easter break to Florida as a 9 year old. It was an amazing site, where were the leaves, can you eat those things, can I climb it ,can I, can I? My poor parents, they probably headed right to the Tiki Bar! This grand specimen is amongst my mini grove of 12 in my backyard, they still amaze me so many decades later. Oh, and BTW I still like to climb them on occassion.

As our wonderful weather continues with no end in sight for the near future I have to say its hard to say no to that lounge chair. Calling all snowbirds or those already tired of the winter that has not even officially begun. South Florida is sporting crystal clear azure skies and temps in the high 70's. If you are lucky enough have a pool surround yourself in BLUE!

There isn't much to say about this but I will. Though I like it a little warmer than this it is the perfect temps with the sun blazing to be outdoors. After a 3 mile run to the gym and an hour workout I ran back home. Within minutes I had my tunes on out by the pool and was soaking up some sun. Tomorrow may be a beach day...stay tuned

The newly proposed 935 foot tall World Trade Center of the Americas.         A group of developers has submitted plans to the City of Miami for a 77 story tower planned to be the World Trade Center of the Americas  in Downtown Miami on the present site of the Holiday Inn. The tower, designed by Arquitectonica, will take up every inch of allowable development under the zoning code, be mixed use, with offices on levels 16 to 23, a 100 room hotel on floors 27 to 36, and residential from 37 on up to 76.

Winter is still ten days away but you would never know it by the weather around the country this week. Nor'easters dumping feet of snow along the eastern seaboard, monster winter storms in the north west, frigid temperatures in the mid section of the country and then there is south Florida. It seems winter has no interest in visiting us as we bask in the brilliant sunshine and enjoy a very pleasant 72 degrees through all of next week. It never gets old!

We tropical "birds" do not welcome these chilly temps. Of course it was only 5:49 a.m. when I snapped this but in the past 3+ hours it has gotten much above that. Today we will achieve a high of 72 degrees and once we hit that mark it should be more tolerable but come already this isn't Nebraska!
