This is a follow up on the prospecting contest we had in our office recently.  Read my earlier post for details.  Well I did not win the $5,000.  It turned out that one person did drop out so my odds inproved to 1 in 19.  Still not good enough to win the big prize.  There were 2nd & 3rd prizes also given out.  Those awards were discounts on one agents office bill, no rent for 6 months, and the other was discounts at KW Mega Camp.  Those were unexpected and very generous on the part of the office management. Many wonder if the positive news reports and recent stock market advances will be a driving force in the real estate market. Consider the following: Nationally: In June, Existing Home Sales rose for the third straight month, climbing 4%. The inventory of unsold existing homes fell to a 9.4-month supply from a 9.8-month supply in May. The national median home price rose 4% from May. The city of Marco Island is considering adding strict rules for short term rentals. In an effort to reduce nuisance vacation renters, the City of Marco Island is considering requiring every owner of a vacation rental home to make an application for resort dwelling certificate. Among other things, the application will require the owner sign an affidavit stating that he or she is aware of all City of Marco Island resort dwelling regulations, possible fire inspection and requirements for rental agents acting on the owners behalf. The certificate must be displayed in a conspicuous place and be renewed on a annual basis.
