We had a lovely evening at Sasso's on Marco Island last night. Our host Mary Ann and Fred Kramer invited us to the “preview” of the Season Opening of Sasso's.  Mary Ann has had the restaurant for about five years and it is stunning.  Located on the south end of Marco Island near the Hilton on Winterberry Drive the establishment stands alone and is hard to miss. Featuring International Cuisine and Seafood, the atmosphere is that of a Mediterranean villa, there is leather seating and beautiful tables inlaid with artwork of angels.  The art work is beautiful and there is an interesting piece every way you look.  One of my favorites is of two glasses of red wine and a trellis of red roses! Our meals were wonderful, from appetizers of eggplant stacked with fresh tomatoes and mozzarella chees...

Sea Turtle Nesting Season Update: There are 51 Turtle Nest on Marco Island Florida, up from last year’s 36 nest. The first nest hatched 99 successful hatchlings and five undeveloped eggs. My neighbor next door, Mary Nelson, is also known as the “turtle lady”.  Mary works with the sea turtles on Marco Island.  Her dedication during the months of May through October is amazing.  Mary is over on Marco early in the morning way before anyone else is up.  She also makes her rounds in the evening, rain or shine, I see Mary take off in her little yellow convertible to Marco Island. Wouldn’t it be great if every day was like the 4th of July, with patriotism and flags flying the good old fashioned RED, WHITE AND BLUE? Parades, fireworks, apple pie and lemon aide, cook outs and the overall good feeling that we get on the 4th of July. We watched the fireworks on Marco Island, this has become a tradition.  We cross the Jolly Bridge at sunset and park in a little parking lot of a condo development.  This year we backed in the convertible and another convertible joined us. Great News, I am now a member of the MARCO ISLAND AREA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS, as well as the Naples Area Board of Realtors. This will allow me to accommodate buyers and sellers in both multiple listing systems. Not all of the listings that are on Marco are in the Naples mls.  Sometimes that Marco realtors list properties that are on the Marco – Naples border and do not have access to the Naples MLS.  This way I will be in both and hope not to miss anything. There are some great buys in Marco Island and the new bridge, the Jolly Bridge has just opened.  This bridge is amazing and allows a bike and walkway over the bridge.
