Pinellas County Florida Botanical Gardens is located in Largo Florida. Here you can wander through over 30 acres of cultivated gardens and view the wildlife in the 90 acres that remain wild and natural. The cultivated gardens include a herb garden, palm garden, tropical fruit garden, patio garden, butterfly garden, succelent garden, bromeliad garden, native plants garden and a seasonal plantings display area. Florida's beautiful waterbirds include the Little Blue Heron. I had to do some research on this beautiful bird that I discovered in Eagle Lake Park, in Largo Florida. He stood patiently, poising for his photo shoot and let me take several shots. I had no idea what he was and did a little research this morning to educate myself.  It seems these birds breed all along the Gulf Coast, through the Caribbean Islands, Central America and all the way down to Peru and Uruguay. Eagle Lake Park located on Keene Road in Largo Florida is a beautiful 163-acre park that once belonged to the Taylor family. This pioneering family raised cattle and had orange groves. Many of these trees are still growing in the park. Pinellas County purchased two sections which now comprise the park back in 1998 and 2006. Spontaneous, To Be or Not To Be...   It's 11:00 am Saturday morning and we are on our way from Sunset Beach, North Carolina to Largo, Florida.  This isn't exactly what I had in mind for this weekend, I had planned to hit the gym, do a little yard work, and watch some football.  So why am I on my way to Florida instead?  We are on our way to Florida because last evening Karen found online a cream puff 2004 Red Sebring Convertible, with only 26,000 miles in Largo, Florida.   We confirmed the car was available this morning, asked our neighbor to look after our pooches and jumped in the car and headed south. We all know how much dogs love water so take your furry friend to The Soggy Doggy Swim at the Highland Family Aquatic Center in Largo. It’s today, Sept. 8, 2012 from noon to 3pm (weather permitting). The cost is $5. for each doggy and, sorry, but no humans are allowed in the water.The Highland Family Aquatic Center is a state of the art facility with a water-park, and two pools.   On the first Saturday of each month it is Open House at London Pride in Largo Florida, Fran and Laurie Black open the doors to their London Pride shop on Walsingham Rd for visitors to come and join in a refreshing Pimms and a selection of home made goodies, not to mention some good old British chit chat but I must say I didn't see one cup of tea. Most people living in Largo, FL, do not have a house or a condo with a dock on the water, so when people think Living in Largo, the do normally not think Living and Boating in Largo, FL! Largo is in Central Pinellas, and although the Bayou and Bardmoor Area and many other surrounding neighborhoods offer beautiful houses and condos, barely any of them are on boatable water. But Pinellas County has made it easy to combine living in Largo, FL and boating. Many boaters have their boats at marinas, or they keep them on a trailer that they park or store somewhere, like my family does. New Atlantis Club Condos do indeed offer waterfront living at it's best. My German clients own a condo down in New Atlantis Club in Largo Florida and we have it rented once again. As a matter of fact, the renter - a college professor - is coming into town today and I will be meeting him down there to give him the gate card and keys to the place. This gated waterfront condo community is right on the intercoastal waterway and offers kayak storage. When my husband and I moved to the area by Largo, FL in January of 2002, we knew that living in Largo, FL and boating would somehow have to go hand-in-hand for us.
