The former site of the United Methodist Church of Fort Myers, which held its last service a little more than five years ago has been sold to ZP 362 Fort Myers Church LLC. The sale amount was $7,000,000.00, and closing occurred earlier this month-December 2021, according to the Official Records of Lee County, FL.A little history on the site:Before Fort Myers was incorporated as a town in 1885 or Lee County was created in 1887, First Methodist was already standing. In 1872 the Church started in a log cabin on property from F.A. Fort Myers is right in my backyard and I didn't know what a treasure it was until I went to my first Art Walk.  "Art Walk" is held the first Friday evening of every month.  The city was humming with artsy, intellectual types from near and far; young, older and families.  Street musicians, art displays in the streets, bubbling fountains and courtyards, shops and galleries with doors open and a crush of people waiting to view each and every piece of art hung on the walls and casting their ballots for their Favorite Piece of Art.     Is it a stretch to say I have not been as intrigued with a downtown at night since I visited Prague? Perhaps, but Prague is a continent away, and Fort Myers is right here.     Photos above show an outdoor exhibit, clever with cut metal, words and light creati...

Old Fort Myers is an area along McGregor Blvd that many people enjoy going out of their way to drive through to appreciate the beautifully maintained historic homes and neighborhoods. It is a popular area where residents and visitors alike get a feel for what Fort Myers was like in the nineteenth and early twentieth century. However, many residents and visitors that appreciate this area of Fort Myers, Florida do not know the exact history of the area, now known as Old Fort Myers. As a longtime resident of Fort Myers, the Old Fort Myers area has always been a favorite of mine and I never knew that Fort Myers was an actual fort named in honor of Colonel Abraham C. Myers, in 1850. Unfortunately, so many people are unaware that Fort Myers was one of the firsts forts built (in 1841) along th...

The address is 2350 McGregor Blvd, Fort Myers, Fl. 33901 Here are a few of the pictures from our big night out:) Enjoy!
