This week end friends and my wife and I went back Fort Myers Beach Bay Front Bistro. We went there before but this time we wanted to try their brunch and I am glad we did.                                          We went to the second floor which has generous views of the marina and Estero Bay. It has both an outside terrace and very large lounge with an elevated long bar and dozen of round tables facing the high ceiling bay windows. The wives and I had the traditional eggs benedict with shaved ham hollandaise served with small diced seasonal potatoes. Stephen had the Bayfront omelets with mushrooms, diced bacon, ham, onions and more topped with sour cream with breakfast potatoes. My eyes were bigger then my belly and I also had the lobster bisque. Last Saturday, I had the great pleasure of biking to my showing.  It's my own Listing, located on Estero Boulevard on Fort Myers Beach.  A Triplex with an owner's unit set back from the street, reminiscent of a Key West Hideaway.  My favorite unit is the front top apartment, a two bedroom with fireplace and a balcony that overlooks Estero Boulevard, the main street running through the Island, and with glimpses of the Gulf of Mexico. Old Florida cracker home or shot gun home on Estero Island. A few years back they had a garage sale at the property and I was invited inside. It still had a lot of the original floors from the 30's, made of local aged Florida pine, which is very hard and gets harder with aging.It was in fact very comfortable, with its lanai and central ac. Of course the kitchen and bathrooms had been updated, but the tongue and groove walls were also original, and it was in winter and the breeze could pleasantly flow from the entrance to the back windows.. 09/03/2014

Some days I long for days which I never knew. Sure the island has also improved with times. We can't just dump chemicals and such in the back bay like in the 70's and 80's. We are way more greener. Sure some of these slick looking homes are just a combination of Key West architecture and newer high tech materials. Sure the roads and drainage systems are better and the beaches are restored when needed...but I long for a simpler time ( with a fast internet provider !)  when people didn't rush much, not that we are rushing too much at that time of year, when this beach cottage was built over 50 years ago...luckily the Fort Myers Beach Historical Society has named quite a few homes "historical" which in return they cannot destroy..for a long time anyway. Bottlenose mother dolphin and her baby calf from Lloyd Nichols on Vimeo. Baby dolphins are very dependent on their mother for food which she provides for around 18 months or more with rich milk. That would be the nursing period. The growing up period may last up to 3 years. An auntie may help raise the calf. Mother and calf stay close to each other as in this short clip where the mother is showing her baby the proper swimming and diving techniques. They are pretty much in  sync.with the mother just a fraction ahead. This was taken along Estero Bay off the island of Fort Myers Beach. Estero island bottleneck dolphins often lurk around their favorite ships at particular times of the day of course looking for scraps and more.
