I have always enjoyed sports my whole life...it must have been the 3 boys that I have raised..or maybe the 4 brothers I grew up with....not sure but sports have always been an important part of my life! Funny thing, I never got into the Nascar thing...as a matter of fact I never understood it until after visiting my brother in Port St. Lucie..I realized they do in fact go around the track more than once! Not only is my brother a Nascar fan but he seems to watch all the races from all of the different organizations!Go ahead and laugh but I have to say it was not until I moved to Daytona Beach did I even consider following Nascar or racing for that matter! Now I am not a huge fan...but I enjoy the sounds of the speedway from the office and from my home.  I love the enthusiasm the fans brin...

Lately one of my feathered friends here at the Pelican Bay Century 21 Office has ~ shall we say ~ become very "territorial" Last summer I wrote about him in Lunchtime At The Canals Of Pelican Bay. At that time I thought HE was a SHE. I've gotten a lot closer since then and realized he is a HE by the color of his feathers.  The Anahinga doesn't know how to share or play well with others. When my friend the Great Blue Heron comes gliding in to have breakfast or lunch, it's a good bet that Anahinga will chase him off. This has been going on for a good week solid now. It started on January 4th... The Great Blue Heron was waiting for me to come out to feed the fish, I grabbed the company book keeper so she could get a good look at him. He begins to hunt for food and the Anahinga dives into t...

Since moving to Fairway Estates, I've been involved in the sale of 171 homes. No one else comes close...NO ONE. I do not say this to "impress" you but rather to impress upon you the incredible success home sellers have experienced using the Ed Savard Home Selling System. It's a fact that the systems, secrets and knowledge I use not only sells more homes in Fairway Estates for MORE money $$$ but I also sell them in LESS time than any other agent! What that means to you is that when you list your home with my Team it is far more likely to sell and far more likely to sell for more money and in a much much shorter time. We will continue with this difficult market for some time to come. This is another reason that if you are selling your Fairway Estates home, you need and agent that can get ...

Daytona Beach Real Estate. Houses, Condos and Reports by Lisa C. Hill, "THE SMART CHOICE!" I recently posted 2 blogs about how well my Daytona Beach real estate sales have started in 2008. This is great news compared to the great real estate meltdown of 2007. Read Real Estate is Great in 2008 and Good News for Central Florida Real Estate in 2008 to find out how my year has started. Now let's review the residential real estate sales history for Daytona Beach for 2000-2007. Over the last month or so, I noticed an interesting trend. The residential real estate listing base in the Daytona Beach Area Multiple Listing Service (MLS), which includes all of East Volusia County plus some crossover listings from neighboring areas, has been slowly dropping, although the sales don't seem to be incr...

It's too soon to tell if this is permanent yet, but as I posted in another blog a couple of days ago, 2008 started out very well for my real estate career. You can read that post here at Real Estate is Great in 2008! Well, it got even better after that. I now have a contract on one of my listings in River House condominium in Daytona Beach, and we're only 1 week into the new year! I have 2 units available in that complex and the contract is on the unit that is not directly on the river, so the direct riverfront condo unit is still available for only $224,900! Both condo units have been completely remodeled and come with tenants for a nice income for whomever purchases them. Or, the tenants in unit 303D which is the one directly on the Intracoastal, are willing to vacate early if a buyer...

Well it's been a very exciting start of a New Year.  We had our first Business Resource Meeting of the year. Our 3 office locations together in one place, marching into the Daytona Beach Area Association of Realtors at 8:15 am on a cold weary Thursday morning.....January 3, 2007....Kudo's to those who left their warm beds!  This year we decided to spruce up our meetings,  no longer business meetings but the new official name of "Business Resource" meetings...We have them once a month and always at the board. The best information I got out of the meeting, I admit it...it wasn't my presentation but non other than Nancy-Ellen Otte, general manager of Century 21 Sundance.  One of the things she did was determine how many pending sales each month and new listings for 2007...interest facts she ...

This week in Daytona Beach real estate I have two properties that are under contract.  Yes.... Things are finally picking up!It's definitely a buyers market both properties are pending for more than 20% off asking price.  Seller's are just getting tired of waiting for buyers so they are willing to take a big price cut to just get away from making unnecessary payments on two homes as well as maintenance.  Interest rates are down and the latest articles predict the Canadians are coming down to purchase properties due to the inflation of the Canadian dollar. The value of the dollar against the euro decline currency of 13 European countries: Germany, Belgium, Greece, Spain, France, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, Slovenia and Finland. Today, a foreign buyer w...

Good new for Daytona Beach.Daytona Beach Community College has earned the accreditation to offer a 4-year Bachelor of Applied Science degrees. This transformed the formally "two year" community college and made it a four year school.Local newspaper today reported that it now offers bachelor and Master's. I di not find any Master's so far, but we will see. If you go to the College website http://www.dbcc.edu/, you will not find a word about the change (at least I did not succeed). The only difference is the name change so far, even though a lot of pages still have old DBCC on them.Nothing is changing overnight, let's be nice to the college, this is good for Daytona. The same local newspaper - News-Journal- also announced another name change for a college: Bethune-Cookman College is now Be...

Way back in September I wrote Bikers Descend Onto Pelican Bay, the post was about how we were filming a commercial for our Annual Bikes and Blues Bike and Golf Event for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. We got the first DVD in October, however we had to add a little something else to it so we sent it back to Mickey Jones and he added Big Mike Griffin's awesome "biker blues" as background music, along with Mickey singing his signature song, Double Bogey Blues from the movie Tin Cup. Once we got the DVD back, we had to figure out how to get it uploaded to youtube. Not so easy! Enter Midori's husband! He was able to do what had to be done to turn the DVD into a video and we are now live on the internet! The committee wants to thank everyone involved with the making of this video, the ...

I read today's newspaper. The concerned residents again forced the developer to downsize. Another victory. The developer was forced to go from 30 stories, then 22, then 20, now 16. Now developer is saying it is not really making big business sense. And it is very said.We are hostages of redneck mentality. We are hijacked. Being against is so easy. I am not surprised that people with that mentality would be fighting for preserving "the beauty". They gotta be day dreaming. The real beauty here is created by G-d, and it is, unfortunately, not complemented by what people have created. If everything would be the way these "concerned residents" want, we would be leaving in caves. These people have their eyes in the wrong place and better keep their pants high. Do you know that there is such thi...

If you were going to court for a very important case, one that could have a serious impact on your future, would you want an inexperienced lawyer representing you? A lawyer without a track record and without any references? A lawyer without any trial experience? Of course not!So, why then would you let one of your most valuable assets, your Fairway Estates home, be represented by an inexperienced or UN-qualified agent? Too often we see home sellers choose their agent based upon someone they know or someone who offers the lowest commission or quotes the highest price. Just as an experienced lawyer can change the outcome of a trial, so can an experienced real estate agent improve the outcome of your home sale. You would pay top dollar for the best lawyer so apply the same principle of com...
