The Venetian Pool has been around since the 1920's in the middle of Coral Gables. There is an interesting history behind this one which actually came about by accident. The original developer of the Gables was quarrying coral rock (hence the name Coral gables) to use in building homes. When the quarry started to fill with water he decided to make it into an attraction and built the Tuscan styled buildings and pergolas which is the style in most of the original homes. This cool and beautiful spot is open to the public 365 days a year. One more fact, it is non-chlorinated and a drain/fill system was created way back when. Each evening it is emptied and then refilled with the natural spring water.

Nothing short of spectacular at The Biltmore Hotel. The Grand Dame of Coral Gables  has a pool that is still the largest hotel pool in the country. At over a half acre thats a lot of water! In the far left corner the tower used to be a diving platform where they held diving shows and competions back in the day. Johnny W. & Esther W. (for those old enough to remember) were often there.
