Wayne and I won the Jump's Tiny Tavern horseshoe tournament on Thursday for the second time as partners and were undefeated. We are both transplanted Canadians and die hard Toronto Maple Leafs fans. Wayne and I won the Jump's Tiny Tavern Horseshoe Tournament on Wed. After losing the first game, we went undefeated with a few nail biters along the way. We were both born and raised in Ontario, Canada. Wayne is from Niagara Falls and I'm from the Toronto area. There are no easy games here and if you don't throw ringers, you lose! It's a lot of fun and a great way to unwind after a busy day selling Real Estate. Although it was a little chilly, the temps are supposed to go back up into the 80's just in time for my Daughter and Grandkid's arrival from Canada on Monday. Obviously the collage below is a spoof but notherners have apparently brought down some colder weather with them. It's going down to 39* tonight and then next week will be in the mid 60's to mid 70's. I have the heat on as I post this. By the time my daughter and Grandkids get here on March 11th, it should be back up into the 80's :-) We'll be going to Sea World and the Brevard Zoo and the kids are really excited! They want to go ziplining over the gators at the Zoo. On a positive note, the housing market is heating up in my area and prime canal homes are selling for a premium. We are actually seeing a decline in inventory with multiple offers on the table. Now is the time to make your move. We are enjoying cooler weather in Cocoa Beach!   We have had a warmer than normal winter lately here in Cocoa Beach and today we returned to more normal temperatures with light rain off and on all day and gusting winds.     When it is cold, windy and rainy outside, nothing tastes better than a steaming hot bowl of homemade chili. We like to cook up a batch of chili for dinner then use the leftovers for chili dogs the next night.                                                                                                                                  If you’re not a chili eater (or just not in the mood for it) a bowl of soup with a loaf of fresh bread is another good choice. Nothing tastes better on a cold winter night than some homemade comfort food!   Enjoy!            01/18/2013

Every year Gino and Jump's Tiny Tavern in Cocoa Beach, Fl. sponsor a Christmas Horseshoe Tournament. The competition is fierce and Tom's BBQ is excellent as always! Everyone brought sides and there was a real sense of community with lots of Christmas spirit. I was voted MVP! Gino, Susan and Boston. Gino and Boston won the tournament.    Teddy and I won second place in a tough group of players. Ted is the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Tree Lighting Ceremony Cape Canaveral Hospital in Cocoa Beach 11-29-12 LIGHTS OF LOVE is an annual event sponsored by the Cape Canaveral Hospital Auxiliary. Cape Canaveral Hospital is located on Cocoa Beach on the S.R. 520 Causeway on the Banana River. This is the 26th year of the program. LIGHTS OF LOVE offers you a chance to purchase a light on the large lighted tree that is displayed on the south end of the Medical Plaza during the holiday season.  Your donation honors someone special to you and the funds raised are used to help purchase hospital equipment and fund community projects. Over the years the funds raised have benefitted such causes as Lifeline®, Health First Hospice and the Organ and Tissue Donor Education Program. Last year the 2011 program helped purchase defibrilators ... 11/26/2012

We are enjoying fabulous fall weather in Cocoa Beach, Florida Most people don't realize that in Florida we have three seasons...it always surprises my "snowbirds" to learn that we have a change of seasons here. My response is that while we do have a change of seasons, it is much more subtle. The humidity is lower, the winds come more from the north than the south and we even see leaves fall from some of the trees. Fall in Florida is a welcome change from the long, hot summer and it is the perfect time to get outdoors and enjoy all that this area has to offer. Walk the beach, relax by the pool, play golf, do a little boating or kayaking...these are just a few of the activities we have to offer.
