The City of Clearwater has a referendum to allow boat slips to be built in downtown Clearwater on the edge of Coachman Park. Pinellas County, Florida is on the Gulf of Mexico in west central Florida. St. Petersburg and Clearwater are the principal cities, and we are just west of Tampa.  Statistics just released from the Pinellas Realtor Organization for July 2006 show we continue deeper into a buyers market.  The absorption rate for single family homes has dropped to 8.6%.  There are 9,549 listings on the market (compared to 2,552 homes a year ago), and 825 sales in July (compared to 1,314 sales last year), giving us an 11.5 month supply.  The median price has dropped 10.4% over the last year, from $256,600 to $230,000.  The mean or average price has dropped 6% from $319,000 to $300,000.The absorption rate for condos has dropped to 4.8%.  There are 6,194 condo listings on the market (compared to 1,486 a year ...
