We had a wonderful weekend at Tween Waters Island Resort @ Captiva Island we spent fun times with my mother & family.   It's so great to see this Island coming back to normal after hurricane Ian. Many places are still closed but most of the beaches are open now.    We paid for a day pass at the hotel from 8 a.m to 6 p.m where you can enjoy all the amenities of the hotel like the pool, restaurant, the private beach and also you can rent kayaks, paddle boards and boats. At the beach you have the option to rent an umbrella with chairs.    We spend most of the time at the beach and I'm glad we did because around 1 pm we had some visitors :)  Dolphins !!!! they got so closed to us! North Captiva Island is beautiful bridgeless island off the coast of SW Florida located just one island north of sister islands Sanibel and Captiva.  Despite the close proximity to those two well-known destinations, North Captiva Island is barely known by even the longtime residents that live in the surrounding region.  The island consists of about 300 homes, 300 vacant lots, a 350 acre state park preserve, miles of gorgeous powdery beaches, four restaurants, and a small resort ( with pools, tennis courts, tropical pool bar, kayaks, playground, etc).  The close knit community is very friendly - as are the transient guests who frequently vacation here.  Since the island can only be accessed by boat, there are no cars...  so everyone scoots around on nice quiet electric golf carts.  Desp... 12/07/2008

Born Milton Rauschenberg in 1925 in Port Arthur, Texas, and raised a Christian fundamentalist, Rauschenberg wanted to be a minister but gave it up because his church banned dancing. "I was considered slow," he once said "While my classmates were reading their textbooks, I drew in the margins." He was drafted into the U.S. Navy during World War II and knew little about art until a chance visit to an art museum where he saw his first painting at age 18.   Visiting Captive Island anytime soon? If you are, you might want to visit The Green Flash for lunch or dinner. Easy to locate, The Green Flash is located on Captiva's only main road, Captive Drive. Sitting on the bay side of the island with gorgeous views of the intracoastal waterway of the Pine Island Sound. You can watch boats go by, fish jump and loads of beautiful water birds fishing for their own meals. The Green Flash is named after the "flash" which people sometimes see just as the sun sets into the water.    One of the most unusual restaurants that I've ever been in is The Bubble Room on Captiva Island in Lee County, Florida. The Bubble Room can be found on Captiva Drive, the only main road on Captiva Island. The waiters / waitresses call themselves "Bubble Scouts" and dress similar to "boy couts".  The food here is excellent, but the deserts are to die for. If you order a piece of cake, be prepared to have enough to last you a few days .... LITERALLY.    Many people that I know will order a piece of cake "to go" knowing that they will be able to snack on it during their vacation while on the island.
