Royal Poinciana Tree in Boca Raton FL   This photo shows a Royal Poincianaia tree in bloom in Boca Raton FL.  I see these trees all year.  I drive past all the time.  We are lucky to have an abundance of tropical foliage in Boca Raton.  It is only in the late spring and summer when the trees are in bloom with their bright orange-red blossoms that I really notice them.  Seems strange because they are so magnificent.   Some interesting facts about the Royal Poinciana:  It is known as Delonix Regia - regia meaning royal and that is definitely what this tree is. They are also known as Flamboyant trees or Flame trees native to Madagascar but are found in the Caribbean and south Florida.     These trees are too big for an average yard as they can grow to 40 or 50 feet tall and almost as wide.... 07/26/2014

There is a revival in new home sales, and that is great news.  According to a recent USA Today article, The Census Bureau reported an 18.6% increase in last month's new home sales.  That's the highest pace since May 2008!!  Seasonally adjusted, new home sales reached an annual national rate of $504,000, beating economist's forecast of $440,000. Not only is that great real estate news, but in addition to an increase in the number of sales, the median sales price of new homes was 7% above last year.   The real estate market continues to forge ahead, The National Association of Realtors recently reported that existing home sales increased 4.9% from April, while optimism for the economy improves with consumer confidence for June reaching a 6-year high according to USA Today.   With that bei... 07/14/2014
