Ok, so today is National Cat Day, National Oatmeal Day and National Hermit Day.  Wow, that's a pretty busy day for some people.  Especially for cat owning hermits who eat oatmeal! While there are many days and/or months throughout the year which are VERY meaningful and necessary to respect and honor, it seems that there is a recent onslaught of other days which are asking for unnecessary acknowledgment.  It's kinda' like a "Hallmark Holiday".All this said, I propose that today should be National Hang Out with a Realtor Day.  Please vote for this "day" at your local election center on November 4th.Think of all the fun someone could have in acknowledging the endless efforts of the Realtor.  They could: Attend a closing View houses Schedule multiple showings to multiple clients Negotiate a...

What do hurricanes and Boca Raton, Florida have in common? This story takes place when my wife and I were thinking of moving to Florida and came down in 2000. We were looking around in Palm Beach county, between Boca Raton and Boynton Beach. Hurricanes were kind of new to us never living or visiting Florida before and living in Maryland for the last 30 years.  We proceeded to finally move here in July of 2002. I’ll never forget the quote a Realtor joke about while viewing property. She said: Question: You know why hurricanes don’t come to Boca? Answer: They can’t afford it. Of course we all know what happen it 2003, 2004, & 2005….Still wondering where that Realtor is and if she still believed that.

Of all marketing tools that we use, I have found calendars to rank as one of the most useful tools for face recognition when it comes to picking up listings. I used to order 100 calendars per year, and now people call me asking when they'll get their new one.   I've trippled that number. I keep mine on the side of my antique slot machine, not that I need to recognize myself.  I'm looking forward to getting these out to have some reconnection with past clients and friends. Yesterday, I was upstairs in my townhome in Brook Haven of Boca Raton and my dog started barking at something outside.  He has great eyesight and actually could see something swimming in the Canal.  I looked out of the window in my master bathroom and saw a big black swimmer in the canal just east of the G56 dam behind the house.  He must have gotten sucked under the lock since it's open for flood control now. I would say this guy is about 8 feet long and trying to find his way back to the fresh water side of the dam.  Good luck.  We have high banks on the salt water side and really no way for a big aligator to climb up.  I'll tell you what though.  I will be walking Larry on a short leash at night just in case.  If you see this guy, let me know.  I'm considering calling Fish and Wildli...
