OUT ON A LIMB…IN ATLANTIS, FLORIDA Ever since the freeze came a couple of years ago, my tree friends have not come back to visit. From my patio, I could hear them climb the trees, especially the pines. You know they are not afraid of heights. They swim too, and to watch them take off it’s as if they are wearing track shoes.   A 10-Step Program to Success   When it comes to getting a job, listing, sale, or qualifying a lead improving the effectiveness is the key.   1.    Do your homework on the client or property.   2.   Have the right attitude in place.   3.   Dress the part.   4.   Polish your sales brochure.   5.   Remember to control the meeting.   6.   Ask a lot of questions.   7.   Take some notes.   8.   Deal with the decision makers.   9.   Recap the interview / meeting with specifics. 10. Immediately send a thank you note.         One item that should be added to the list is to act enthusiastic.   Grasshopper Whoopee happening in Atlantis Florida I am just fascinated at nature and what you may see on a daily basis or unexpectedly. This is one of the latest jewels to add to my list. If you notice closely there are two bugs and no doubt doing something on the level of an X-rated movie. Despite the double feature, these were the largest locust type I have ever seen.   We may never be back….Real Estate 101   I wrote in a previous blog, that our lguanas have not been seen for two years and were not seen this year as well. Two winters ago a bad cold snap came through Florida, also known as Global Cooling. They could not find Al Gore during this time for some reason either. Anyway, it effected these boys visiting our back yard next to the canal. This one especially because of its brilliant yellow/orange colors which is somewhat rare.  Hope they return some day, but I fear they may never be back. 02/26/2012

My feature today is this pretty species that was loving my screen enclosure to the pool. One good reason to have one I suppose.   Strange Sundays, in the City of Atlantis Florida   I live in the City of Atlantis, and to me I have a bit of a Nature’s refuge behind me. With the canal behind our property, we attract all kinds of wild life. One strange thing happened two years ago though. This cold snap came during the winter and affected our Lguanas.   I would normally not write about such things anymore, as a builder that no longer builds, however these two things seem to happen a lot during the course of one’s travel. We as Realtors also don’t get involved and let the professionals do their thing. So I thought I would bypass all that and post something I would see when I was in the Biz a decade ago.  I mean let’s face it how much about Short Sales & Contracts can you take in a week’s time.   City of Atlantis, Florida needs volunteers to help host our annual Spring Fling.   Our third annual Spring Fling is scheduled for Saturday, April 14. Selling “tickets” (wrist bands) to our residents at a cost of $10 per person will cover some of the cost of food, games and entertainment, including those fabulous fireworks. But that won’t do it all. We are inviting residents and friends to meet the “Spring Fling Challenge” by making a tax-deductible contribution so that we can have another fun-filled afternoon.   50 Ways to Wish Happy Birthday I’m reminded when turning this pinnacle age, of all the memories and experiences one has while reaching this half century mark.  Just look back at all the things that have changed: Cars that looked like rolling wheels of art now look like rolling plastic tin cans. Televisions are now Wide Screens with pictures you can see Telephones with a rotary dial are now cell phones with movie cameras Pencil & paper are now computers The art of conversation has been replaced by forms of abbreviated nonsense.
