Are First-Time buyers losing out as home sales continue to rise???   This is still happening today, look back at 2013. When will the trend change? U.S. home prices have risen for 14 straight months, but first-time buyers have been increasingly on the sidelines. In May, first-time buyers accounted for 28 percent of existing-home purchases, down from 34 percent a year before and 36 percent two years ago, according to the National Association of Realtors. The declining share of first timers means that many have missed out on low interest rates – which recently moved up from near-record lows – and home prices that have risen sharply from their bottom. “The people buying homes today … are participating in home price growth. Younger people, they are being left out,” says Lawrence Yun, chie...

Bank of America, GMAC, Chase, Wells Fargo and Citi hold the highest number of vacant foreclosures. Twenty-nine percent of the vacant foreclosed homes are priced below $50,000; 25 percent are between $50,000 to $100,000; and 12 percent are in the $1 million-plus range, according to RealtyTrac. The states with some of the h...

Asian Investors Are Thinking Small w/ Real Estate Purchases  This is still true in 2015. After years of splurging on pricey condos and mansions in the West, Asia's rich now are buying small office buildings, retail shops and branded hotels in Europe and North America, searching for stable returns and diversifying away from home markets they view as increasingly risky and volatile. Bloomberg News A stake in New York's General Motors Building was bought by a Chinese developer last month. But Asian buyers are increasingly being drawn to smaller deals. In the first six months of this year, Asian private investors poured $1.9 billion into U.S. commercial properties, according to data from Real Capital Analytics. That total already dwarfs the $551.4 million worth of U.S. commercial real estat...

One quick technique to earn 2-10 times last years income There was a fascinating study conducted on the 1979 Harvard MBA program where graduate students were asked “have you set clear, written goals for your future and made plans to accomplish them?” The result, only 3% had written goals and plans, 13% had goals but they weren’t in writing and 84% had no goals at all. Ten years later, the same group was interviewed again and the result was absolutely mind-blowing.     The 13% of the class who had goals, but did not write them down was earning twice the amount of the 84% who had no goals. The 3% who had written goals were earning, on average, ten times as much as the other 97% of the class combined! While this study only looks at earnings to quantify success, I still find it to be an ex...

At Home Holiday Safety Tips     Keep  garages, sheds & windows locked and don't forget to use the deadbolt locks too.   Install timers to regulate lights, widescreens, & radio devices.   Keep at least 12 inches of space or more between burning candles and anything that could start a fire.   Avoid using staples or nails to hang exterior wires. Use UL-rated clips instead.     Watch overloading any electrical circuits with too many extension cords.   Watch where you hide a spare key, burglars know where to look.   Secure you power box, so they will not be compromised and turned off thus affecting your alarm systems.   Wising a happy & safe Christmas & New Year

The Jewish Holiday Weapon of Mass Destruction     My contention is that more Jewish men have been killed by potato latkes than in all the wars and by automobiles. Emergency rooms at this time of the year are filled with Semitic-looking men with clogged arteries, serious acid reflux, etc. It is not clear if the Jewish wives are well aware of this phenomenon or if it just important to adhere to this strange ritual.     Latkes A pancake-like structure, not to be confused with anything a first-class health restaurant would put out. In a latke the oil remains inside the pancake. It is made with potatoes, onions, eggs and matzo meal. Latkes can be eaten with applesauce but COULD also be used to comb your hair, shine your shoes or lubricate your automobile. There is a rumor that in the time o...

It also is undeniable the tax code remains highly favorable to people who rather own instead of rent. Whether you were a first-time buyer, a longtime homeowner who refinanced or a seller, there are a host of important deductions available.
