Hagley Museum and Library Wilmington Delaware is one interesting place to visit. This site was the largest gun powder manufacturer in the country during the 1800s.  There are over 120 patent models on site and plenty to do with the family.  You will see how gunpowder was made back then using the Brandywine River for power.  To see a video of the Hagley Museum click below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ohpju5_vPbI&feature=player_embedded   Larry Hultberg - Delaware Realtor 302-530-9186

These are before and after photos of the office of J & S. Contractors on Williamson Street in the Forty Acres neighborhood of Wilmington, Delaware. Built around 1895 as a livery stable to serve the workers in the nearby row houses and single family homes, it had been used by a plumbing supply company prior to present owner, John W. Piazza renovating it as an office, workshop and storage for his business. In the next 2 pictures, you can see what has become of the cupola on top of this Forty Acres unique building--what originally was louvered, now is glass which serves as a skylight over the luxurious shower upstairs. The next picture shows arched functioning double doors where once sliding barn-type doors led into the stable.  Mr. Piazza has built up the granite threshold with brick...

PODS are great! I used them a few years back and reccomend them to my clients.  Here is how it works, go to the website PODS  and in just a few short days they will drop one of these babies pictured above at your home (make sure its under a solid contract first) Have the driver point the door facing the house, it helps. Over the next few weeks load her up and when its filled just give them a call and they will store it for you!    If you are lucky enough to be there when they drop it off and pick it up you will see something you never have before.  They take this black frame (pictured above) off the truck and pick up the pod and move it!  The kids really loved it and I thought it was cool also. About a week before your move date call them and tell them where and when to drop it off.  It...

Forty Acres in Wilmington, Delaware. Forty Acres was rural until the mid-1800s, developed from the farmland of Joshua T. Heald. One of the city's first suburbs, the neighborhood is centered around the St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church. The name Forty Acres is taken from the fertility of the farmland. One acre of the land was said to be worth 40 acres one might find someplace else. The neighborhood exists northeast of Delaware Avenue, southwest of Riddle Avenue, east of Union Street and west of DuPont Street. Bordering neighborhoods include Trolley Square, The Highlands, and Little Italy. There is not high turnover in the area which is confirmed by only 2 homes currently for sale and only 1 home settled within the last year. This quaint community gives homeowners the ability to have suburb...
