This is the last week to see the Needlework Exhibit at the Rehoboth Beach Museum in the old Ice House building.  I toured the exhibit yesterday and was most impressed by the variety, complexity and quality of the work.  The pieces were, for the most part, created by local folks.  The museum is open 10am-4pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and 11am-3pm Saturday and Sunday.  Many thanks to all of the talented contributors for sharing your gifts with the rest of us! The Rehoboth Beach Museum is located at 511 Rehoboth Ave., adjacent to the Visitors' Center (old train station), and Grove Park.  While you're in town, stop in the Visitors' Center for brochures, maps and area info.  The Debbie Reed Team of RE/MAX Realty Group is right down the street at 319 Rehoboth Ave.  I'll be here to answer ...

After working to build an established predictable life of relative comfort and "retiring" from an accomplished career, how do you respond to the shock of the move to Delaware? Where do you fit into an unknown world of strange new people, places, and more relaxation and solitude than you could have dared hoped for? [Crickets Chirping]  As real estate professionals, our greatest personal rewards come from assisting clients as they make their way from many nearby metropolitan centers and re-establish their lives in our beautiful, tax friendly area. What we often find as people begin this emotional process of transplanting their lives, is a host of intense difficult to understand resistance as they prepare to move to Delaware. Many times, buyers will meet their "perfect" home at a price tha...

Westminster Presbyterian Church has sat at the corner of King Charles and Laurel Streets in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, since the early 1930's.  At the height of the Great Depression, the Midway Presbyterian Church (Rt. 1, Rehoboth), decided a Presbyterian presence was needed "in town," to provide worship and ministry for the tourists.  Nevermind that times were tough and money tight.  The vision and faith of its parent congregation outweighed the difficulties of the economy, and Westminster was born. The 1950's saw growth for churches nationwide, and the church by the sea was no exception.  By now a full-service, year-round congregation, trancepts were added to the colonial-style sanctuary in 1956, giving it the shape of a cross and much-needed additional seating. Westminster recently bu...

The Rehoboth Beach Convention Center was filled to the gills yesterday afternoon with football fans, and people like me--people who really don't give a fig about football, but wanted to support a good cause while eating pizza and popcorn.  It was the Annual Championship Sunday, sponsored by the Sunrise Rotary Club of Rehoboth Beach.  Big screen TV's, lots of food and beverages and a Silent Auction were all there to entertain the gathered fans.  And whether you were rooting for the Packers or the Bears, the Steelers or the Jets, all were there supporting a good cause. I want to offer kudos to the many, many small businesses in our area who repeatedly give back by contributing goods and services to events like these, year in and year out.  We live in a small yet philanthropic community.  ...

How much Time do We Have?  Do we have enough time in the day to do our job?  Do we have enough time in the day for our families?  Tough questions that need an answer! I am from the old school.  I didn't write this next line, but I do live by it.  "I am willing to work harder than most people won't, So that I can enjoy the life most people can't!" I have been putting a team together for the last 9 months, so I have to provide enough leads for everyone, listings to get leads, systems in place and SEO my web site.  That leaves little time in the day left for what should be more important to me and that is the family. I do this for two reasons.  I am not sure which one comes first in my mind, but I do know which one should come first.  The reasons are that I am a driven person with a prospe...

Santa needs a new home!  I realize I do not live close to Santa, but you have to admit, the man has been working for a long time!  Now by now I am sure that there are 1 or 2 Santa Jr.'s that could take over the family business.  So my goal is to cold call on him, get him to list his home and move to Delaware!    In Delaware, Santa could enjoy 4 seasons, unlike the one he has now (COLD).  Our seasons are more on the milder side, never too hot or too cold.  Delaware real estate offers homes of all types.  Single Family homes, town homes, condos and more.    It's possibleSanta's new homewill be in an Active Adult community, or a community that offers all the amenities but with out the age restrictions.  Of course Santa's home will be low in property taxes, especially for him, since he no l...

Good News!!  The "No Left Turn" and "No Turn on Red" signs are DOWN in downtown Rehoboth, AND (wait for it), the parking meters are bagged, removed and no longer in service!!  So come to the beach, park for FREE, and make turns to your heart's content!  The air and water are warm, as is the hospitality.
