I was driving home from showing property and saw this building - I have no idea what it is.  But between the clock tower and the roof line, I just thought it was interesting.  Then, as luck would have it, a traffic light turned red just long enough for me to grab my iPad Mini and snapped this shot.  To search for your next home in the DC Metropolitan area, click here!

The Old Post Office Pavillion stands on the corner of 12th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW in downtown DC.  When it opened in 1899, the New York Times critqued it as  "a cross between a cathedral and a cotton mill", and almost immediately there were cries to tear it down.  About the time I moved to Washington, in the early 1970's, this talk got quite serious to the point that the city actually issued demolition permits.  There  were almost daily protests, with fans of this historic building carrying "DON'T TEAR IT DOWN" placards.  Instead of the wrecking ball, the Old Post Office got a facelift and a new lease on life. And now it's in the news again, with Donald Trump's plans to convert the old office building into a luxury hotel.  Me?  I'd rather see it go condo! And whether you liv...

CityLIFT down payment assistance program by Wells Fargo.  Wells Fargo Bank has just rolled out a new program called CityLIFT down payment assistance program. One of the hurdles some first time home buyers encounter before they even start the home buying process can be saving for a down payment on a house. This amount you receive from the program is fully forgivable after you live in the home for five years. The prorated balance due is repayable if the property is sold, refinanced, foreclosured, not owner-occupied as the primary reside...

I was on my way to the cherry blossoms.  Needed some good Friday Foto pictures.  But something happened on the way to the Tidal Basin.  It was a traffic light. And there they were!  The season's first tulips!  Urban tulips!  And of course, my camera was on the front seat, so I grabbed it and leaned over toward the passenger side and got them.  I had much better luck at the red light than I did at the Tidal Basin.  It was bumper to bumper traffic and a sea of tourists.  Maybe I'll go back first thing in the morning for a Speechless Sunday shot!   If you are planning a move to or from the Washington, DC area, I can help!  I am licensed in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia.  You may call, email or text me at:  Housepat@mac.com, 202-549-5167 SEARCH ALL LISTINGS IN THE DC METRO...
