The current CT Real Estate market is like most of the rest of the country: slow! CT homes are sitting on the market for serveral months without being sold. In the real estate world, if a house stays on the market for a month or more, its considered "stale". Homebuyers will start to wonder if something is wrong with the home and move on to newer listings. So what can seller do to make their CT Real estate more marketable? Try a new approach to market your CT Real Estate To sell your home in today's market, you need to market your CT real estate in a way to set it apart from the rest. Foreclosed homes owned by the banks offer prices that are 70% or more below market value. So selling your Connecticut home will garner stiff competition. There are very few, qualified homebuyers in today's m...

Yes, I know I can blog about almost anything--but something from UNDER my sink?  And make it apply to the hyper-local level?  You've got to be kidding! Well, thankfully, I've only got two under-sink cabinets to check out, so it shouldn't take too long to find something.  Did I really say that? I opened the bathroom vanity cabinet, and was amazed at the amount of products two teenage girls could accumumlate in one place! Even so, not much of interest as far as blogging material goes. I guess I'll have to check out the kitchen under-sink cabinet. I'm sure it's not the neatest cabinet in my house and could use some re-organizing, but I won't be the first one to talk about organizing, I'm sure!   Cleaning products--to prepare a house for sale, to pay attention to details, yep, a bunch of pe...

Mr. & Mrs. For-Sale-By-Owner, I applaud you in your desire to take on the job of selling your home yourself. Especially in the current economy. You are in the company of large numbers of people who have gone before you in the attempt to "SAVE" the money that you would otherwise pay to a real estate agent to manage your sale. I hope you are successful, as every dollar is important in these difficult times. Before you commit to selling your home yourself, I would be remiss if I did not share some information with you.  If you are successful in selling your home - and (according to the most reliable statistics I can find) at least 85% of the people who have gone before you were not - you still may not have been successful in saving the money you desired. I know, you may not think that the ...

Windsor Real Estate Windsor was settled in 1635, as a trading post where Europeans would trade with the native Podunk Indians.  Primarily named Dorchester, the names was changed in 1637 to Windsor, named after Windsor England.  There was much more Windsor real estate in the  17th century, covering the towns of Windsor Locks, South Windsor, East Windsor, Bloomfield and Ellington.  Connecticut's first highway also opened up here, connecting Windsor and Hartford.  In fact, settlers who came to this town, were among the first to arrive from Europe on these shores.  Many Massachusetts settlers moved to Connecticut to avoid higher population densities. Quite a few prominent residents have lived in the town of Windsor, including the 3rd chief justice of the US Oliver Ellsworth, founding father...
