We had a particularly difficult winter with the cold and snow. For some reason the flowers and shrubs in our yard have been a little slow in coming out. Yesterday as I started to do some cleanup, I had an opportunity to really see the yard, and I was really pleased to see the earth starting to wake up. The dogwood at the top of the driveway is starting it's blossoms, which means the birds especially the hummingbirds will be around, but you need to look quickly to find them. Also, the pachysandra at the base of my trees are starting to blossom, and I had forgotten that they do blossom. I don't remember who, but some time ago an ActiveRain member posted a blog warning about creeping myrtle, and the damage it can do. This access road connecting Meriden Rd and East Main St in Waterbury's Very East End is one of most sought after neighborhoods for housing because of it's convenience to the highways and services.
