The traditional Music  Under The Stars concerts are underway in North Haven this season and rumor around town is that the fun festivities may not be the same under the new town administration.  For as long as I can remember it has been acceptable to pack a few beers for a relaxing night of music on the Town Green. When I noticed the show tonight featured "Big Shot" a Billy Joel tribute band I asked my wife if she wanted to go. Since I'm not always in tune with the latest trends she informed me that word on the street is anyone on town property with alcoholic beverages will be fined.  Not sure if she was trying to give me a nudge for Tee'd Off Tuesday but it sort of worked.  Although I'm not officially annoyed about the rumor I would be pissed if I get a ticket. After searching the town ...

Who knew when I approved this logo design just over three years ago, we would be celebrating our fourth year! It certainly has been a wild ride! I became a Broker to help agents grow and become successful people not only in the skills I could share, but personally. I am proud to say that my staff is thriving and becoming more successful as these years have quickly passed. I am also pleased to toot my own horn (who else is going to do it?), that I have made a stretch in that I am wearing many hats these days also. From preparing reports for the bookeeper, to keeping current with the classes all us realtors must take. I have been one busy person. But, I am enjoying it all to say the least. I have met so many nice people over these three years. From my adopted beach community of Madision,...

There has been a complete make over of the North Haven Basketball team this year. Peter Civitello has come to North Haven from coaching Basketball in Guilford. Peter Civitello is a former North Haven Indian Alumnus. Due to large graduation losses for the Indians, the North Haven team will be facing many challenges this year. New coach leading a very inexperienced team, however if Coach Civitello's level of enthusiasm is any indication, North Haven will have a great basketball team this year. Come on out and see a game! All games start at 7 pm. The weather in Connecticut has been unseasonable warm this October, so it would be a wonderful time to take advantage of the great temperatures and take an afternoon to explore Peter's Rock. It is about a mile's hike to the top and you get a wonderful view of Sleeping Giant. You can also see The City of New Haven and many spectacular views of North Haven. Enjoy the foliage of the way up. In my opinion, fall is the best time to go. The leaves are changing color, the air is crisp and the insects are not a problem. Bring along a picnic lunch, there picnic tables available at the start of the trails for you to enjoy a family lunch. There is also a new pavilion at the entrance and plenty of parking. The park entrance is located at 133 Middletown Avenue next to the First Fuel Gas Station, in ...

John Caffery & The Beaver Brown Band preformed again this year at the North Haven Fair. It was a beautiful night, much different than last year's pouring rain and the band played all their old hits which had the crowd on their feet and dancing. And when they performed their hit "On the dark side", it brought down the house.               The audience went crazy when John Caffery and Michael "Tune"  Antunes jumped down from the stage and mingled with the crowd. Michael's saxophone playing was hot as the band played their hit "Tender Years", which is also from the movie "Eddie and the Cruisers". For those of you who don't know Antunes, he also appeared in the movie. It was an exceptional night at the North Haven Fair and a fantasic performance by John Caffery & The Beaver Brown Band. Don'...

The Town of North Haven has made Money Magazine's Top 100 List of the best places to live in America for 2007, making the list at number 86.    This year the magazine decided to concentrate on "small towns" across the country. North Haven stood out due to their strong economic development, large business base, proximity to the City of New Haven and the many local cultural events that are held throughout the year. The magazine didn't even touch upon our low taxes, excellence school system (with our brand new high school), town meeting form of government or our strong sense of community. But thats fine, because now, the whole country will know, what we locals have kept secret for years. North Haven is an exceptional community for you to live, work and raise your family.       The other Co...
