You know the saying, if you can't beat them, you might as well join them!   Well, today, that little phrase rang true for us.  This morning we had, what they called a snow flurry.  Four to six inches, later, it's still snowing.  It has been so cold, that under the snow, the roads are still iced over.  The temperature rose to twenty one degrees this morning, which the weather reporters, thought was really good.  Okay, we'll go with that. The plows came and went, in the morning.  The more cars that went by, the better the road was looking.  Still needed four wheel drive, though, because we did see some cars losing it on the hill.  School bus did fine, though, when those lights started flashing, some vehicles, from the opposite direction, couldn't stop.  We have a perfect view of the road ...

Did you ever notice that you find a good listing, priced below market, and think that it is a true bargain?  Only to have a client want to take another $20,000 off the price?  Well, yes it happens.  More now, than, ever. What would you do? I remove my feelings and head from the idea, immediately.  After all, the true market value is what the buyer is willing to pay and what the seller is willing to accept.  By keeping that thought in mind, you can save yourself time and aggravation.  You will sell more homes.  Both your buyer and/or seller will be happier, too. Once the appraiser comes by and gives it his, or her, stamp of approval, the deal is all set to close.  Don't  speed up, on the curve in the road. Take it slow and easy.                                                            ...

In Connecticut, the sun is shining today.  Really good for melting all that snow, that has made most roads, impossible to drive on.  Certainly, the visual part of driving has been at risk, due to the huge snow mounds. Today, I have an appointment for a new listing. I am excited to meet this couple because after talking with them, I can feel that they really love their present home.  Always a good sign.  I, also, have some buyer showings.  Yesterday, I drove around to make sure that we would be able to access the homes that are on our list.  It sure is a different way of working when we are in the winter season.                                                                                                 Planning out the rest of my week, around the weather reports.  Snow on Tuesday, 40...

Yes, in Connecticut, we were hit by a huge snowstorm.  The snow will remain for awhile.  The streets are still, not down to the surface.  The state highway and town highway departments, are trying to remove the snow with front end loaders and large dump trucks.  The snow is piled so high, that to pull out of a road, you must pull out into that next road, to see if anything is coming.  Very dangerous.  I knew that I needed to take new photos, and soon.  However, many of the sidewalks are still not cleared,  and the driveways are not yet, cleared off.  I will try to take photos, tomorrow of the sidewalks that appear as caves that you can walk thru.  Sort of like, an igloo village. In between, showing homes in the morning, and a listing appointment, later in the day, I will drive by my lis...

How often do you, treat yourself?  We get so busy helping clients and keeping up with our famiy duties that treating ourselves is not something that happens often. This morning, 9am, I had a facial.  I had received an email from my Daughter, for a Groupon offer.  It was for a facial~massage, from Venora's Salon in Glastonbury, Connecticut.  They are located by Somerset Square on Naubuc Ave.  Easy to find and good parking. When I entered, the staff were waiting for me.  They had offered me freshly made coffee, water, fruit and some other goodies that I resisted. My technician was Kate.  I followed her to the room and began my relaxation treatment.  She was amazing.  Kate did let me know, that I should be drinking much more water. Advice that I will listen to. I feel very relaxed and was ...

Real estate in Glastonbury is full of history.  Settlers petitioned the government to break Wethersfield into smaller towns, and Glastonbury was one of the results.  The town was instrumental in the revolutionary war, as it was home to a factory owned by George Stocking that produced gun powder.  Shortly after, the town was transformed into a ship building hub.  Glastonbury was then a substantial producer of goods during WWI and WWII, supplying clothing and leather to many allied countries.  Today, a vibrant agricultural industry surrounds real estate in Glastonbury, adding to its pleasantly rural atmosphere.  A Sunday drive on the back roads will reveal open fields, traditional farms, and a little slice of old New England. Real estate in Glastonbury offers owners a great deal of securi...
