No Time like the First TimeIf you are contemplating the purchase of your first home, congratulations! As you probably know, buying a home is one of the biggest financial commitments you can make. It is also a process filled with emotion, and a touch of anxiety. To help keep you sleeping soundly, here are answers to three big questions that concern many potential first-time homeowners.Question #1: How do I decide what to look for in a home? It's easier than you think. Sit yourself down and list what's important to you in a home. The purchase of every home involves making tradeoffs, so be sure to prioritize your list. One element is architectural style. Do you prefer a Colonial, a Cape Cod or a modern look? An important factor to consider is living space. How much room do you need right now...

A decision that many first time buyers have in the Danbury area have if they should continue to rent or decide to own. With the average home or condo for rent in the city of Danbury around $2550 and the median around $1725 a month (per CMLS 4/8/08), renters are paying a quite large expense each month for shelter. If a person decides to stay in their $1800 a month rental for a 2 more years, while they figure out their situation, they still would have spent over $43,000. Even in New Milford, which is a more affordable marketplace than Danbury, the average asking price for a rental is just under $2400 a month with the medium of around $1200 a month (per CMLS 4/8/08). If you rent in the $1200 a month for 2 more years, you still would have paid out almost $29,000. Your rental helps your land...

Following up to the market stats on condos in Danbury. there are several things to consider when looking to purchase a condo or townhouse in the Danbury area. On top of the things buyers should be looking at for a single family home (like layout and mechincal systems), there are things that are unique to note when looking for a condo: Is the community located in a neighborhood that you would feel comfortable living in? Is it near the places you need or like to go to a lot (work, shopping) Would you feel comfortable in the condo or townhome community? Is the indivdual unit is a location in the community that you like? Has the condo fees gone up considerbly over the last few years? Are there any special assessments on the complex? Condos are good an attractive option for first time homeowners since they are generally more affordable than single family homes of similar square footage. Another benefit is the monthly homeowner's associations dues cover exterior maintaince such as gardening & snow removal. They are also attractive to people looking to enjoy community amenities and don't have the personal funds or time to maintain things, such as a pool & tennis courts found at many condo & townhome communities in the Greater Danbury area. There are several other advantages of owning oa townhome in Danbury,CT.  They are typically newer than similiar priced single family homes in the area. Their won't be as much updating or reapirs in a townhome , generally speaking compare to a single family home.  Check out condos fo...
