The second Car Show scheduled this month is the 1st Annual Cromwell, CT Memorial Day Car Show 2013, On Main St. Since this is the first Car Show that Cromwell, CT is holding on Main Street, I do not really know what to expect, but I am hoping that it involves these old beautiful cars  crusing up and down Main Street.   Cromwell, CT Covenant Village Antique Car & Classic Show 2013.  One of the great things about this time of the year is the start of the Car Show season.  Car shows are one of my favorite things to do for the Summer, and over the next three weeks there are three of them scheduled.  I will be posting a blog for each of them.   The 2013 Middlesex Chamber Of Commerce Business After Work, Billy Tee's, Cromwell, CT.  This is a free event, so you can't beat the price, but you do have to be a Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce menber or guest. If you have never been to Billy Tee's then you are in for a special treat, their brick oven pizza is excellent, especially their four cheese pizza.  But its not about the free food and drink, it is about an excellent opportunity to network with other business professionals, and make some great connections. The TreeHouse Comedy Club Is Now At  Billy Tee's In Cromwell, Connecticut every Saturday night.  For those who are not familiar with the Treehouse Comedy Club, it is Connecticut‘s original and first full time comedy club.   The Treehouse first opened in Westport, Connecticut in 1983, and has featured several upstart Comedians that are very well known and famous today. Today was the Active Rain Meet-Up In Cromwell, Connecticut. This is the first Meet-Up that I have hosted, and I was very pleased with the number of ActiveRainer's that showed up.  Today's ActiveRain Meet-Up was also a first for two ActiveRain Members Beth McIntyre and Joe Petrowsky.  I had met Joe before, but I had not met Beth before today.  It did not take either one of them long to fit right in with everyone as if they had know all the others for a long time. First ActiveRain Meet-Up In Cromwell, Connecticut.  I have been attending ActiveRain Meet-Ups since they began, but I have never hosted one of my own, so I thought it was about time that I did that.  In picking a location for the First ActiveRain Meet-Up In Cromwell, Connecticut,  I thought that it would be best to hold it in a location that would be central to where I am, and easy to get to.  Cromwell, Connecticut is right on RT91 and the location that I chose was Billy Tee's, which is right off of exit 21. Hurricane Sandy is just beginning to hit Connecticut, but it has already caused the cancellation of several events that were not scheduled until Tuesday.  One of those events is the Middlesex Chamber Of Commerce Business to Business Expo which I blogged about back on the 16th of this month. The speaker for the Middlesex County Chamber Of Commerce Monthly Breakfast this month is outgoing Connecticut Senator Joseph Lieberman.  After many years of representing Connecticut in Washington, and several years before that as Connecticut's Attorney General, Senator Lieberman is stepping down to enjoy some of his retirement years. The Middlesex Realtor Council held its Monthly House Tour yesterday.  The tour included houses in Middletown and Cromwell.  The two towns are next to each other, but what we saw from one town to the next was amazingly different.  While Middletown experienced heavy rain and winds, there was little to no damage, but Cromwell received sever damage from the storm that passed through Connecticut on Tuesday.    As we toured from one house to the other, we saw more and more damage, especially to tree.  Luckily each of the house that were on the tour did not experience any damage, but many others did not fair as well. Travelers Championship Starts Today in Cromwell CT   Connecticut is the Center of the PGA Universe for This Week, as the first round of the Travelers Championship begins Bright and early on Thursday and the winner will be crowned sometime around 5:50 PM Sunday. This PGA tour stop celebrates its 60th year this year and has another stellar field all trying for the $1,000,000 first prize. Many golf legends have participated and won this event, which was originally known as the Insurance City Open recognizing the Hartford CT as being home to many of the large insurance companies.   There have been a number of blogs here on ActiveRain about local Farmers Markets, and it is very understandable that Farmers Markets are getting a lot of attention at this time of the year.  The fruit and vegetable at Farmers Markets are fresher and better than the fruit and vegetables at the local supermarket.  This is because all the fruits and vegetables are grown locally and many times picked on the day that they are being sold, at least at the Farmers Markets around me. Many of the Farmers Markets around here seem to be on the weekend, but the Cromwell Farmers Market is in the middle of the week on Wednesday's.  If you are in the area and have not stopped in at this Farmers Market yet, you need to do so, the fruit and vegetables there are excellent. Is *SOLD* the same thing as *UNDER DEPOSIT*?  To me this is VERY misleading, and needs to be addressed.  I received a postcard today from a realtor, farming this area.  On the postcard it states where a condo in my complex HAS BEEN SOLD.  As I mentioned I received the postcard today.  This condo was listed on March 21 as being ACTIVE, 18 days later it is under contract/deposit... kudos to the realtor. I know the market is turning around.. but this quick?  So I went online, and saw that this condo is *UNDER DEPOSIT*, not sold.. not closed.  What happens if something goes wrong during the home inspection.. or for some unknown reason the buyers can't get a mortgage.  Don't get me wrong..
