The Value of a View Will Always be What Someone Will Pay for it.In Grand Junction, CO, we have "Colorado National Monument" and "Bookcliff" views, in nearby Palisade they have  "Grand Mesa" and "Mt. Garfield views".  Most of the spectacular views are in the Redlands neighborhood which is home to the Colorado National Monument.  The Redlands Mesa Golf Course has the Colorado National Monument for a spectacular backdrop and the golf course meanders through the hilltops and rocks  surrounded by luxury custom homes. There are several factors to consider for calculating a good view:Is the view partially blocked by trees? Are there young trees that may grow to block the view?Ability of a home to be built blocking the view? For more information on determining the cost and value of a Grand Juncti...

It is time for sweet delicious peaches on Colorado’s Western Slope! The peach harvest begins in late June and runs through the first of October. The most desirable Colorado peaches are Elberta, Haven, Polly, Reliance, Hale Haven and Ranger.  My personal favorite are the Hale peaches.  These are freestone which make them much easier to work with if you are jamming or simply sampling.Shopping for Colorado peaches in the Denver Metro Area can be challenging.  Luckily, my daughter, Erin Bates, lives in Grand Junction which means I can visit Erin and also go on the hunt for the perfect box of peaches. And while we are out, we always visit the many Palisade wineries.  One of our favorites is the Carlson Vineyards.  They have some of the yummiest wines.   I particularly love their Laughing Cat T...

Automated Valuation of Your Home is NOT a True Price If you want to find the approximate value of your Grand Junction, Colorado home, an instant electronic valuation may get you relatively close.  But, if your goal is to price your home without leaving thousands of dollars on the table, and still stand up to a lender's appraisal, you will want someone qualified to view and walk through your property. You may have a real estate agent who can help you, but if not, the next option is to go to the internet.  There you can search your area, get a sense of what similar homes are listing for, and get a "ballpark" number.  This would be just a first step, without further investigation, you could easily be off by as much as tens of thousands of dollars. Then you see it...The FREE Instant Home E...
