It may not be a great snow year in Steamboat but sometimes that is a chance to appreciate a place for more that it's marquee attraction. The snow is better than most of the state but not quite what we are used to after several epic years that have made our powder dreams a reality. We along with quite a few other locals have been mountain biking up Emerald Mountain this winter not just on the roads which is often possible but on some of our best single track. If you wonder how we are on our normal mountain bikes with just a bit of air taken out of the tires. The snow have been friendly with a great tacky quality to it and we have had a blast.
