We are avid Library users.  And we are very lucky to have a great City Library in Louisville, Colorado.  With two daughters, 7 and 4, we go to the library quite a bit.  The Louisville Library has so much to offer.  The Children's section is excellent. The current library opened in 2006 and it felt so great to have such a new facility in our town. Here are a few pics of the Library inside and out:

As a Realtor, I make it a point to point out the pluses and minuses to my Clients of anything they are considering.  One of the discussions we always have is about the different cities in our area and what each City has as its challenges and problems. For a few years now I have been saying how Louisville has a Sales Tax Problem since a lot of the new retail stores have been opening in other cities and the existing retail stores in Louisville have had slow sales or have closed their doors. Yesterday, the sales tax problem in Louisville affected me personally.  It was a very hot summer day, bright and sunny in the mid 90's.  My daughters said they wanted to go swimming in the afternoon so we put on our bathing suits, packed our towels and some snacks and headed to the Memory Square Pool i...

The New Energy Economy touted by Colorado economic development experts is taking notice of Louisville: the city will soon be home to the Western Hemisphere headquarters for Tokyo-based wind-turbine manufacturer Zephyr Corporation and a research and development office for Danish wind energy giant Vestas. Zephyr will be setting up within a 7400 sq ft building in the Colorado Technology Center; a demonstration wind turbine will be visible outside their headquarters. Vestas will take over a 47,000 sq ft building. By 2013 Vestas plans to hire over 200 people to design their wind turbines; Zephyr is looking to hire more than 20 in the next year.  George Douglas, a spokesman for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden provides some more support for the high quality of life people re...

This is sad news.  I was on Main Street last night and I saw the bakery was empty with a notice posted.  Looks like the Landlord evicted the business owners from the building last Friday, August 13.  I had no idea this was coming.  I used to go a lot more to the bakery when I lived closer to downtown, but the past few years I have not gone as often.  I have been going off and on to the bakery since I moved to Louisville in '96.  It has always been a very popular place for the locals.  Donuts, croissants, and bread. I took these pics last night---

Zucca Italian Ristorante opened earlier this year.  Located on Main Street in Louisville, Colorado.  I have been twice and both times we had a good experience.  Veggie options are a little limited, I recommend the Canneloni Forno.  Otherwise, the menu has a lot of good options for non-veggie people. Service is really good and they are very attentive.  My wife got the veggie lasagna and she didn't like it at all so we asked them to change it out and they did so very nicely and quickly and my wife got a new entree.  They have a large Wine List with a lot of excellent choices.  Kid menu is really good and it's a kid friendly place. I recommend you check it out when you are in Louisville.  I took these pics with my iPhone last night. Thanks--Mario

Most times when we go out locally for Indian Food we go to the "Jewel of India" in Westminster.  It's about a 15-20 minute drive from Louisville. Located at: 10343 Federal Boulevard, Westminster - (303) 469-7779 On the west side of Federal, just left of the King Soopers in the corner. Food is really good here.  Lunch buffets are your best value and they do buffets every day.  Today we went there and they have a lot of veggie dishes and meaty dishes as well.  Service is usually very good and it has a nice atmosphere.

Great news for Louisville Residents!  Finally, a good Thai restaurant in town.  Busaba is a new Thai restaurant which opened recently.  It's located on McCaslin Blvd on the West End of Louisville between Century Blvd. and Via Appia.  In the shopping center where Lamar's Donuts and Papa John's Pizza is located and just across from the Wal-Greens. I had the chicken basil dish, medium spicy, and it was excellent.  And my wife, Smitha, had the Drunken Noodles with Tofu and it was very spicy!  Just the way she likes it. I highly recommend you try it out.

One of my goals as a Realtor is to create a "Positive Real Estate Experience" for my Clients.  I want my Clients to feel good about the transaction we completed. And I want them to also feel good about me as their Realtor and the experience we shared during the process.  That way when time goes by, they have happy and positive memories of the purchase/sale of their home and of me as their Realtor. Think back to one of your most recent large purchases like a car, engagement ring, house or even a high-end, expensive restaurant.  Most times if you had a positive experience it was because the salesperson did a good job and made you feel special and at the same time provided you excellent service, advice and counsel during the process.  I remember once my wife and I went to a four star resta...

Yesterday I had lunch at the Old Louisville Inn.  It's a nice place to hang out, good food and they have a lot of different beers on tap.  It's a very popular local hangout.  When you move here, you've to check it out. Located in the heart of Louisville right across from the City Library. Outdoor seating is very popular in the evenings when it's cooler. Beautiful bar, restaurant opened its doors in 1906. Pretty stained glass on the ceiling. Lots of TV's to watch sporting events.

A nice summer day in Louisville today.  Here are some pics I took. Looking North in front of the City Building on Main Street.  Looking North on Main Street in Louisville in front of the City Building. In the Summer, the City puts out the outdoor seating you see on the side of each street.  This way people can eat, have a coffee and hang out and be outside in the nice weather. Looking east from the City Building towards the Library and the railroad tracks. This is right below the Miner in front of the City Building.

Back in February I wrote a post about the Copper Hill subdivision near the intersection of S. Boulder Rd. and McCaslin in Louisville, Colorado.  At the time of writing that post, 2 of the 9 lots were sold, 2 were under contract, and 5 were still available.  Now, in July 2010, I have good news to report that a total of 5 of the 9 lots have sold.  1540 S. 80th St., 1073 Copper Hill Court and 1062 Copper Hill Court have sold for prices ranging from $320K to $350K.  The remaining lots are 1566 S. 80th St., 1088 Copper Hill Court, 1020 Copper Hill Court, and 1039 Copper Hill Court.   If you're interested learning more about the Copper Hill subdivision in Louisville, Colorado, give me a call!

Yet another reason why Louisville formerly held the title of best place to live in America (my guess is that we didn't get it for 2010 because Money magazine just couldn't keep giving it to us year after year!):  no parking problems. City council is actually considering a reduction in the number of parking spots required per square foot of new construction: http://www.dailycamera.com/news/ci_15591222   I love it!

Hot Rod Lincoln careens through Louisville Colorado! What, how's that? Well for this to make sense we first we need to take a small step back in time. In the late sixties – early seventies, there was a funny, catchy tune that received quite a bit of air play on the radio. It's a great tale about a guy driving a souped up Lincoln and his adventures with a Cadillac sedan. That tale was told in a song called Hot Rod Lincoln popularized by a band called Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen. So what does all this have to do with Louisville Colorado? Well, on Friday nights from June through August the town of Louisville Colorado hosts the weekly Louisville Downtown Street Faire. Last night, June 25th was the the third installment in this year's schedule and Commander Cody was the feature...
