Have youth sports in America got out of control?  Many people think so.  I have coached both recreational sports and highly competative sports.  With over 20 years coaching experiance I would love to hear from others on their thoughts.  Some of the issues I would like to discuss are: 1. Is there an age where kids should be "strongly encouraged" to just focus on one sport? 2. Should 12 and under children be cut from teams in an effort to create the elite of the elite teams?  What does that do to a childs self esteem? 3.  How much is too much?  How many games is enough in one year?  Is it too much to have a 10 year old play 65 baseball, basketball, soccer, softball games in one year? 4.  Which is better for our children Recreational Sports vs Competative Sports?
