Monday was another golf tournament with the group I belong to called F.I.S.A.  We get to play a different course every three to four weeks.    Monday’s tournament was at Hiwan Country Club in Evergreen, Colorado.  Even though they were calling for thunderstorms in the mountains, the rain somehow skirted around us.  It was perfect weather with temperatures in the low 80’s and blue skies most of the time.    My business partner, Belinda, wasn’t too thrilled that I took the day off to play golf after just returning from a Yellowstone vacation.  But, I bought her lunch today and she was fine.   Luckily she has a short memory when it comes to these kinds of things.   Just look at the view I had in my office Monday.   08/31/2011

Increasing Home Values in Denver CO? I saw something over the weekend that I haven't seen for quite some time.  Not once, but twice. Although we still get an occasional declining neighborhood in the Denver area these days, most appraisals are rated as "stable."  Well, we got a pleasant surprise on two appraisals in completely different areas of town.  INCREASING Home Values! Now, perhaps this is an anomaly.  Perhaps the appraisers need glasses or were disoriented or mistook these neighborhoods for hot real estate markets.  But two appraisals?  It seems unlikely this would happen twice unless we are starting to show signs of increasing home values in Denver. Home Home on the Range....... Give Me A Home Where The Buffalo Roam.... As part of my mountain excursion yesterday with my business partner, Belinda, we stopped in Genesee, Colorado where there is a herd of buffalo grazing. Genesee is just off of I-70 at exit 254, just east of Evergreen. The buffalo are fed every day by the City of Denver Mountain Park system. Here are some great shots of the herd.  This big guy didn't move much.  He just sat back and kept an eye on things while the rest of his herd relaxed and ate.   03/17/2011

I posted this message some time ago, but I just spoke to someone who felt it was helpful so I thought I'd tweek it a little and repost. With my office in Downtown Evergreen, I get a lot of folks visiting from out of town who are curious about the convenience of living in the Foothills of Denver, Colorado.  The biggest concern I hear is "how long will it take to get anywhere from Evergreen/Conifer?"  During my consultation, I always find out where their job takes them.  Do they have to commute to DTC (AKA the Denver Tech Center off I25 near Hampden) or Downtown Denver, or do they fly out from the airport on a regular basis.  Some may even work in the Golden area.  Because Evergreen is so expansive, I always try to get a sense for my client's patience level when commuting.  Everyone is d... 02/15/2011
