Here between Denver and Boulder we've already had our first hard frost, and even a dusting of snow. But the snow melted within minutes of the sun's rising, and today is forecast to be 70 degrees. That's typically what happens in autumn between Dener and Boulder -  all the more tender plants like tomatoes and peppers are killed off and then we have a few more weeks of summer-like temperatures.  I tried covering mine this year but did a shoddy job of it and it didn't work.  Will try harder next year! If you're looking for a home to rent in the Denver to Boulder vicinity, including Arvada, you already know availability is tight.  And if you want a place that will take pets, your situation is even tougher. In a market where landlords can pick from 10 to 15 applicants, most will eliminate folks who have pets. Real estate is on the way back and happy days are here again!  Right?? They certainly seem to be here, between Denver and Boulder Colorado, and especially my town of Arvada. The graphic to the left (fromRealEstate.com) is all the 'buzz' in real estate circles - it sure makes some interesting points. The roller coaster pictured there is interesting to me specifically because I've been saying for quite a while that I believed we were 'bumping along the bottom' when it comes to the local housing recovery. I wonder about the extreme bounce it depicts though, in fact this graphic says the US housing market has recovered a third of the great losses during the crash. Here in Colorado's Denver to Boulder locale, the weather is gorgeous on the first day of autumn, 2012.  What does that mean for local real estate? First of all, to home buyers and home sellers it means the same thing it does to everyone else - cool weather and even cooler nights, football, pumpkin-flavored-everything, gorgeous foliage colors, gathering the backyard harvest, pulling out warmer clothes and realizing the kiddos don't have anything that fits anymore.
