Stanley and Helen Cheng, opened Yountville's 16th wine tasting room. They are the owners of Hestan Vineyards in the Napa Valley. The 2,400-square-foot space at 6548 Washington St. is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Besides serving wines from the winery’s limited production Hestan, they will also offer gourmet cookware from Cheng’s global company. Tastings being offered are of the winery’s estate-grown cabernet sauvignon and Bordeaux-style blends for $20 per person or $35 per person for the reserve tasting. The City of Yountville home sales report for August 2013 reflects the strong housing market in this small, central Napa Valley community. Only two homes closed escrow in August, 1 condo and 1 single family home (same as the 2 homes that closed in July).  Both sold quickly, 6 and 21 days on market. On my birthday, September 1st, I wrote about one of Yountville's last vacant commercial properties selling. In  this post was a promise to follow up and let anyone looking for something similar, just how much commercial property sells for. This is the keeping of the promise. I haven't been able to ascertain the selling price for 6725 Washington Street, the piece bought by Restoration Hardware and Michael Poelnske of Ma(i)sonry but there are two recent other sales which will give you some idea of commercial values here. Even though downtown St Helena is the most expensive commercial real estate in the Napa Valley, Yountville's price are just a small amount less. I can sit here and count the number of undeveloped commercial properties in Yountville quickly. Let's see, that's 1, 2.....3. Yes there are only 3 and now one has just sold and will most likely be built on in the next year or two. The 25,265 SF commercial property at 6725 Washington Street has been sold to Restoration Hardware, a high-end interior decoration company, for an undisclosed amount. This location was the site of many notable Yountville restaurants starting with Moma Nina's; then Frankie, Johnnie & Luigi Too; and  followed by Philippe Jeanty's two failed ventures, Pere Jeanty and PJ Steak.
