What has caused the change, well really more of a healthy evolution, of the staging industry?  Eight years ago there were two main training offerings giving staging training and redesign, today there are about 25.  They are springing up all over North America with many trainers stagers/redesigners we all know and respect.   The training companies each offer a different take on the industry and fill in gaps in training.  It is a given that you must be creative.   Many people attracted to staging are creative and have not fully developed their business training.  There are those that got their training through their business backgrounds, have creative talent and just jumped right in. One of my biggest issues with many of the facts and figures reported in the media is that they are based on Fuzzy Math.  Example: New Home Sales, which is the number of contracts signed in a prior month for a house that often times hasn't even been built yet.  40% or more of those contracts fall out (don't go to fruition). Another issue I have is with old data.  Reports that rely on information from months ago.  Or broad based statements based on states and regions when we all know real estate is local, really local.  Zip code local.  That bothers people like Mike Simonsen as well.  Altos Research compiles data in real time, as it happens, and serves it up locally.   If water gets under the kitchen cabinets, can the cabinets be dried out effectively without mold growing?  Yes, the cabinets can be saved from mold and water damage by using the right equipment.   This beautiful kitchen in Walnut Creek, CA, had the water supply hose to the dishwasher fail.  Water ran under the cabinets, onto the floor, into the dining room, and then down through the subfloor into the downstairs office.
